It looks like we’re in for only more heartbreak in the next episode of Pennyworth. TV Guide has an exclusive sneak peek of Sunday’s episode, during which Alfred (Jack Bannon) tries to break up with Sandra (Harriet Slater), but it doesn’t seem like she’s taking the hint.
Sandra comes to visit Alfie in prison, where he breaks the news that he doesn’t think they should see each other anymore. More specifically, he tries to do that thing where he says she deserves better and should stay away from him. Sandra, knowing her own wants, says that she’s the better authority on what she deserves, but it doesn’t seem like Alfie is keen on listening.

Who could blame him, after what happened to Esme (Emma Corrin)? He seems determined to keep Sandra safe, but it remains to be seen whether she’ll heed what he’s saying. Could she end up in the same position as Alfie’s ex though?
