Spike Lee will now be part of the ranks with Martin Scorsese, Alfonso Cuarón, Noah Baumbach, and Bong Joon Ho as the newest auteur director to develop a film for Netflix. His newest joint — the primary since his Oscar-winning BlacKkKlansman — is Da 5 Bloods, which set to debut on Friday, June 12. On Monday, the streaming service launched a trailer for the pic, and it seems to be appropriately epic.
Da 5 Bloods places a very Spike Lee-esque spin on the everyday struggle film, centering round 4 black veterans who return to Vietnam in the hunt for the stays of their fallen squad chief (performed by Chadwick Boseman) and hoping to seek out treasure alongside the way in which. From what will be seen within the trailer, the movie will mix archival footage with flashbacks and scenes set within the current day.

Along with Boseman, Da 5 Bloods stars Delroy Lindo, Jonathan Majors, Clarke Peters, Norm Lewis, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Mélanie Thierry, and Paul Walter Hauser.
