In case you’re not familiar, Netflix offers a selection of different tiers when signing up for the service. The newest of these tiers is the advertising tier that offers Netflix, still at 1080p, for a significantly lower price with the caveat that you have advertising before and sometimes during a TV show or movie.

Another caveat of the ad tiers is that some titles are locked out from being watched on the service. That’s because Netflix doesn’t have the rights to show advertising on these titles and is, therefore, blocked.

Example of House of Cards currently blocked on Netflix’s advertising tier.

If you follow us, this list is significantly shorter than that of the United States or even some other regions. This is because Netflix likely faces fewer roadblocks in negotiating rights to these shows and movies in this region. Netflix in the US, for example, is unable to show ads on some Universal movies and some Sony movies, but they can in the UK.

How much of the Netflix UK library is frozen out, then? Not much at all. In total, 55 titles are unavailable to watch in the Netflix UK library out of the impressive 8,262 strong library. That represents 0.7% of the library frozen out. Compared to the US, that’s quite favorable where 2.5% of the library is locked out.

Now, it’s important to note that this list will fluctuate throughout the year (for example, Homeland is leaving Netflix UK pretty soon) and is subject to change.
