Happy Friday, and welcome to your weekend recap of everything new on Netflix this week and what’s currently trending in Netflix’s top 10s for the past week. There’s lots of cover, so let’s dig in.

Looking ahead to the weekend, there are a couple of things to look forward to. The Thai horror movie Home for Rent drops tomorrow alongside Horrible Bosses 2, and on Sunday, you’ll get every single episode of the tenth and final season of The Blacklist.

For more on what’s still to come to Netflix throughout February 2024 – keep it locked here on What’s on Netflix. Keep an eye out on our What to watch section tomorrow for more picks on what to watch, and we’ll also be dropping our Valentine’s Day guide over the weekend.

Top 3 Picks on What to Watch on Netflix This Weekend

Falling for Figaro (2020)

Director: Ben Lewin

One of two movies from the distributor IFC Films to hit Netflix this week is Falling for Figaro, the movie headlined by Joanna Lumley. The British/Australian production is about a fund manager who trades in her life in the city of London, trying her luck in the world of opera singing.

Good performances from all make this an excellent light watch over the weekend, particularly if you’re in need of more Lumley after her stellar appearance in Fool Me Once earlier this year.

One Day (Limited Series)

The big series release of the week came yesterday in the form of a British romance drama series that’s based on the best-selling novel by David Nicholls.

The expanded 14-episode limited series follows two people over several decades, showcasing how their lives pan out independently, and when their paths cross after their graduation night when they meet for the first time.

The new series has scored exceptionally well thus far from critics and audiences, with the RottenTomatoes score currently sitting at 90%, and is one of the first Certified Fresh ratings for Netflix in 2024. Mary Kate Carr summarized it best for AV Club: “In spite of any bumps along the way, One Day is overall a satisfying, swoon-worthy ride.”
