Tiny Pretty Things Season 2 Has Netflix Renewed Or Canceled

Tiny Pretty Things – Picture: Netflix

It’s been over ten months since the release of Tiny Pretty Things on Netflix, and we’re still waiting to learn what the future holds for the series. Can we expect to see more of Tiny Pretty Things on Netflix in the near future then? Only time will tell.

Tiny Pretty Things is a Netflix Original mystery-drama series that revolves around an elite ballet academy in Chicago where the cutthroat world of elite dancing has students standing on the precipice of ruin or greatness.

The series was created by Michael MacLennan and is based on the book of the same name by authors Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton.

Official Netflix Renewal Status: Pending (Last Updated: 22/09/2021)

December 14th, 2020 was the release date for the first season of Tiny Pretty Things, and over the past ten months, we’ve learned of little to no news from Netflix regarding the future of the series.

The lack of renewal is surprising given that Tiny Pretty Things was the series to unseat Queen’s Gambit in the global rankings. For a total of eight days, Tiny Pretty Things was sat at the top before it was quickly unseated by powerhouse Bridgerton.

Typically, any series able to make it to number one will eventually see renewal but Tiny Pretty Things appears to be the odd one out.

Has the production of Tiny Pretty Things stopped Netflix from renewing?

Unlike many other productions, all of the dancing involved in the series is carried out by the actors and no stunt doubles are involved. Despite the extensive amount of choreography, filming for the first season only took three months, taking place between August 6th, 2019, and December 3rd, 2019.

Does the story need a second season?

The season ended on a huge cliffhanger that we need to resolve in the second season.

The deadly love triangle between Cassie, Delia, and Ramon had huge ramifications by the end of the season.

Cassie, who after awakening from her coma, revealed that Delia was the fun that had pushed her and caused her accident. Due to her jealously, Delia acted out when she learned that Cassie and Ramon were having an affair, in a fit of jealousy and rage she tried to remove Cassie from the picture.

However, Delia was able to get away with the crime by framing her sister Bette, and their mother allowed it to happen, knowing about Delia’s crimes the entire time.

In the final moments of the first season, Ramon was stabbed, left dying on the floor in a pool of his own blood with a knife plunged into his chest.

Is there a sequel book to Tiny Pretty Things?

Tiny Pretty Things is based on the book of the same name, and there is in fact a sequel to the novel titled Shiny Broken Pieces.

Given that there is another book’s worth of source material to adapt, it certainly warrants a second season.

When could we expect to see Tiny Pretty Things season 2 on Netflix?

As it stands, any talk of a release date is purely speculation. To see the show on Netflix anytime soon would mean Netflix renewed the show without making an official announcement, and production has been underway without anyone knowing, both of which are not impossible but highly improbable.

At this rate, if Tiny Pretty Things is to return to Netflix sometime in the near future don’t expect its arrival until late 2022 or sometime in 2023.
