90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? features married couples trying to make their relationships work in America following the K-1 visa process, except for Liz and Ed, who began the season as engaged Americans.

The 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? cast will “continue to navigate the highs and lows in their relationships including everything from preparing for first impressions with the in-laws, to managing significant cultural differences, to working through turbulent family dynamics and more,” according to TLC.

Below is what happened on Episode 13 of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?’s eighth season.

ED and LIZ

Ed and Liz hadn’t spoken in a month, except for when Ed had asked Liz when she planned to move all of her stuff out of his place, according to Liz. At this point, Liz and Ed would’ve been married for one week had they stayed together.

Liz said she didn’t know where she was going to live or what she was going to do for work, but she and her mother Patty were heading to San Diego to start fresh.

Liz called Patty her “support system” and “emotional-support blanket,” and so she was glad to have her mother there for her during this time.

Liz was upset and emotional, and so was Patty, who called Ed “stupid” and “full of bullsh-t” for all the lies he had told her about how he’d take care of her daughter’s heart forever.

“He thinks he’s God’s gift to women, and he’s just God’s gift to sh-t,” Patty vented in a confessional.

Meanwhile, Ed bought a used pontoon boat, and he boasted about how he was ready to give up on fancy cars and “party on the river” in Arkansas instead. Ed insisted his split from Liz was “final” and there was “no way” he could spend the rest of his life with her.

“I can’t picture anyone staying with her long-term [based on] the way that she acts. She’s always making me out to be the bad guy, but it takes two to make a relationship, and it takes two to break,” Ed said. “But at this point, I don’t care.”

Liz and Patty were then shown driving to Ed’s house, where she was going to grab the rest of her belongings. Liz started to cry on the drive over because she said she really loved Ed and didn’t want to see him.

Liz was admittedly fearful of what the outcome of her reunion with Ed was going to be.

While Liz packed up her things, she thought Ed’s place was disgusting and dirty. She didn’t think he’d be able to take of himself let alone anybody else.

Ed claimed that he’s typically very neat and had planned to hire a professional cleaning crew once Liz moved out of his place.

“I didn’t expect two for the price of one. I’m going to be totally honest,” Ed quipped.

“Well maybe you should’ve been a man,” Liz’s mom announced.

“Well maybe you should’ve done a better job raising your daughter,” Ed snapped.

“I did a fantastic job raising my daughter — that’s why you’re out [of her life],” Liz’s mom said.

Liz got in the middle of the argument and begged her mom not to let Ed get to her. Liz announced Ed’s behavior is exactly why his daughter no longer spoke to him.

ANGELA and MICHAEL

Angela said she was “very skeptical” of Michael’s intentions for their relationship considering his visa was “in limbo” and he had been acting “shady.”

Angela, for instance, didn’t understand why Michael had switched interview locations and also wanted her to fly back to America a couple of weeks before he was expecting to receive his visa.

Angela, who didn’t trust Michael, then checked his phone and found a bunch of mysterious checks getting cashed into an account. Michael explained how it was a piggy bank where he was saving money for a rainy day.

Angela questioned if Michael was saving this money so he could leave her once he moved to the United States. Angela demanded an explanation, and she didn’t understand why he hadn’t been open about his savings to begin with.

Angela also discovered Michael was “the group administrator” for a group called Paradise men, which appeared to be a group of men who were scamming women in America. But Michael insisted that he was just helping other people going through the visa process.

“I feel like he knows when that visa’s coming and he wants me to go home so he can get his opportunity to go to the U.S. without me,” Angela explained to the cameras.

Angela proceeded to yell at Michael for making her look like a fool. She was apparently regretting her trip to Nigeria, and she took Michael’s phone away from him.

Angela yelled about how she was tired of Michael’s lies, and then she stormed away from him with his cell phone in her hands. Angela vented about how this situation as “ridiculous” after spending seven years with Michael.

“He is the sneakiest snake I’ve ever seen!” Angela complained in a confessional. “Why do I try to grab the snake when I know it’s going to bite me?”

When Angela looked through Michael’s phone later on, it appeared Nigerian men were looking for American women to marry so they could move to the U.S. Angela also found out that Michael was charging these American men money, and so she accused him of “running a whore ring.”

Michael had also allegedly been researching life-insurance policies and what would happen if Angela passed away. Michael had also apparently given a random person Angela’s 2022 tax return.

Angela concluded that she had been blind and “delusional,” and that she needed to protect herself.

JASMINE and GINO

Jasmine and Gino were shown going shopping for a new washing machine, and Jasmine was frustrated Gino had money for things such as these but didn’t have money for things she wanted to do, such as competing in a beauty pageant.

After speaking to his wise Uncle Marco, Gino revealed to Jasmine he had paid the $1,200 fee for the pageant using his credit card so that Jasmine could participate in it. In return, Gino asked Jasmine to stop starting arguments and saying mean things to him.

But Jasmine still wasn’t happy. She felt Gino was demanding things in return and trying to “condition” her and train her. Jasmine was also upset that Gino needed to be convinced to pay for the pageant in the first place.

Gino, however, asked for the credit he thought he deserved, both for the pageant and for getting her to the U.S.

Jasmine said a real man doesn’t list the things he does for a woman and simply provides financially, but Gino countered that a real woman is calm and gentle — not “angry and b-tchy.” Gino believed he had been providing both financially and emotionally for his wife.

“So what are you doing with me then?” Jasmine asked.

“That’s a good question,” Gino replied.

ROB and SOPHIE

Sophie said she hadn’t seen Rob since she had stormed out of his house. She said she was “annoyed” and “fed up” with her husband.

Sophie was also pissed off because one of Rob’s friends had suggested that Sophie was using Rob for a green card in America. Sophie, who is from London, vented to the cameras how she would’ve found a rich man had those been her intentions.

Sophie’s mom Claire told her daughter that they could move back to London together, where there were job opportunities and free health care. Sophie, however, wanted to give Rob one more chance. She said Rob needed to show that he truly loved her and cared about her — or else she’d leave.

Sophie was feeling “nervous” about her reunion with Rob, whom she was still very attracted to.

Rob then met up with Sophie and Claire, and Claire called their marriage “a trainwreck.” Claire claimed that Rob was “damaging” Sophie and was being manipulative in their relationship. Claire also accused Rob of using “bullying tactics.”

Sophie defended Rob, saying he had never bullied her, but Claire claimed that her daughter had suddenly weakened in her husband’s presence. Claire insisted that Sophie was tired of being put down and judged.

Rob said he had defended Sophie to his friends and thought highly of her, but Claire wasn’t convinced that Rob was ever going to change and treat Sophie better.

“You’re a horrible, nasty person to my daughter,” Claire griped. “Nothing’s frigin’ changed.”

Rob believed that Claire just wanted to pull Sophie away from him, and he was afraid that he was going to snap.

Since Claire chimed in a lot to attack Rob, Sophie was starting to think her mother’s presence during the conversation was a mistake. Claire didn’t think Rob was healthy for her daughter’s mental health.

Claire said Rob was “an absolute disgrace” and she hated him, but Rob said Claire had no experience with a good man. Claire started crying and needed to leave the table. Sophie attempted to console her mother, and Rob was left at the table amazed by what had just transpired.

Rob believed that Claire wanted to drive a wedge between Sophie and himself, and that Claire was actually the manipulative one.

Sophie felt she had to choose a side, and she didn’t know what to do. As Rob defended himself and explained why Claire was wrong, Sophie began to worry that he’d never change or be nicer to her.

PATRICK and THAIS

Patrick, Thais, and Patrick’s brother John were looking for a venue where they could host Aleesi’s birthday party. Patrick had been hoping to host the birthday party at his father Jose’s ranch, but his Jose asked the couple to renovate his ranch before inviting anyone to it.

Thais argued that Patrick’s father was trying to take advantage of them and it wasn’t okay.

Patrick could see where his wife was coming from, but he apparently enjoyed spending time with his dad and helping him out financially. Patrick wanted to have a good relationship with his father since his mother had passed away.

John didn’t like how Jose was treating Patrick either, and he wanted to see Patrick find a different apartment in Brazil so that Jose couldn’t hover over them and use the place for his own needs, such as washing his clothes.

Patrick and Thais’ two families then got together for a dinner in Brazil, and everyone was worried that things were going to go terribly wrong.

Thais’ dad announced how he couldn’t believe Patrick’s dad would charge his own son for his granddaughter’s birthday party. Jose said it was none of his business, and tensions were escalating.

John, however, couldn’t understand what was being said since he didn’t speak Portuguese.

KOBE and EMILY

Kobe and Emily were shown waiting to meet up with Kobe’s ex-girlfriend so that Emily could finally have peace of mind about what Kobe’s relationship with his ex-girlfriend was like before Emily entered his life.

Kobe’s ex-girlfriend was very late, and so Kobe didn’t even think she was going to show up.

Emily, however, was desperate for answers. She wanted to make sure that Kobe never cheated on her.

Emily therefore asked Kobe when he had dumped his ex-girlfriend, and Kobe admitted, “We never officially said, ‘It’s over.’ When you got pregnant, I said, ‘Okay, I’ve got to focus on this. This is my life now.'”

“Okay, so you were not single after I got pregnant and after you proposed to me?” Emily asked.

“We were not in communication for a while,” Kobe replied.

“So were you still in love with her when you met me?” Emily asked her husband.

Kobe refused to answer the question. Instead, he accused Emily of ruining the moment and their trip to Cameroon. Kobe just wanted to move forward and forget about this conversation.

Kobe ultimately confessed that he was keeping his former girlfriend as a “backup” option in case his relationship with Emily didn’t work out, which angered Emily. Emily said Kobe’s behavior wasn’t fair to this woman.

Emily wanted to make sure Kobe’s heart wasn’t split in half when they met, and so Kobe assured her, “I was not in love with [my ex]. Why are you bringing this up? What’s the problem?”

Emily promised Kobe that she wasn’t mad, although she felt “a little betrayed” because it took a pregnancy to finally knock Kobe’s ex-girlfriend out of the picture. Emily also wished Kobe had told her the truth when she first asked about it.

“Now I have doubts,” Emily lamented in a confessional. “It sucks this all happened just a few days before [our second] wedding.”

ASHLEY and MANUEL

After meeting with a lawyer about a post-nuptial agreement, Manuel discovered that Ashley had $100,000 in student loan debt. Ashley attempted to explain how common student loan debt is in America, but Manuel was all worked up, especially because Ashley was wastefully spending money, in his opinion.

“You’re irresponsible,” Manuel told his wife.

The pair then went grocery shopping and argued about most items since Manuel was trying to be frugal. For the first time in their relationship, Manuel felt Ashley was the one keeping secrets from him and being sketchy.

Manuel told Ashley that he probably couldn’t send money home anymore because they had these big expenses. Manuel said his brother in Ecuador needed $300, and when Ashley asked him why, he simply said it didn’t matter.

Ashley claimed she had just put $1,000 into Manuel’s account, and so when she asked what happened to that money, he essentially said it wasn’t her business and his problems were his own problems.

Manuel continued to live in secrecy in his marriage, and Ashley snapped about how he needed to treat her like family and not like a bank.

“I’m done giving and giving if he’s going to act this way,” Ashley complained to the cameras. “This marriage needs to feel like a united front, like we are a team, and not like I am a supplier.”
