Jenn Tran teases ‘The Bachelorette’ drama and villain this season — “My gut was right”

Reality

Jenn Tran has teased drama on her The Bachelorette season and how her intuition didn’t lead her astray during filming.

When asked if drama played a role in her Rose Ceremony and elimination decisions, Jenn told Alex Cooper on the June 26 episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, “Drama can go a lot of different ways.”

“So it’s, like, ‘Why are you in the middle of the drama? Did you start it? Are people just jealous of you?’ or what is it?” Jenn shared.

Jenn said handing out a rose after a day of drama therefore depended on a man’s story or intentions.

She also believed she was good at sussing out if a bachelor was being honest or shady.

“Yes, absolutely. I think I very much have a gut feeling that I trust, and there were definitely certain men that I trusted more than others,” Jenn revealed.

“Was there drama? Yes. And did I have to suss things out for myself? Yes, I did.”

The Bachelorette star added, “I’d like to say that my gut was right at the end of the day.”

Jenn also admitted she had guessed who was going to be The Bachelorette villain right away.

“I called it out on Day 1,” Jenn boasted.

Not only did Jenn predict her season’s villain, but she also noted that she thinks she knows who will star on The Bachelor next year.

“I think I do [know]. I don’t know if I’m allowed to say, but I think I do,” Jenn told Alex.

“I don’t know if I’m right, but of course I think I do. There’s a lot of great guys on the season, but I do think one stands out in particular that I think could be the guy — great for somebody but not for me.”

When asked if she’s happy with the way in which her The Bachelorette season ended, Jenn shared, “The ending was the right ending for me. Yes, I’m happy for me because everything was the way that it was supposed to go.”

The physician assistant student, however, suggested that she didn’t predict how her season was going to end while filming, adding, “I think people will be shocked, for sure.”

Jenn had 25 bachelors to choose from on Night 1 at Hummingbird Nest Ranch in Santa Susana, CA — not at the usual Bachelor mansion in Malibu — when the show began filming in late March, and production wrapped in May.

Viewers will be able to watch Jenn’s journey to find love unfold when The Bachelorette’s 21st season premieres Monday, July 8 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.

“I’m honestly really excited for everyone to just see it,” Jenn gushed on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast.

Jenn acknowledged how people already have “a lot of opinions” about her season — many of which are negative — but she knows “how amazing it’s going to be.”

Jenn shared, “I know what a dream it was for me, and I’m so excited!”

When asked to share the “opinions” she’s heard about her The Bachelorette season, Jenn admitted, “A lot of people wanted somebody else [to be the star], or they’re wishing that I was American… There’s just a lot of people who want to have input on it.”

Jenn added, “You just can’t win. There are people who are like, ‘She’s too crazy,’ or, ‘She’s too boring,’ or, ‘She wants to take shots.’ God forbid I want to take a shot!”

The Bachelorette star potentially hinted at her ending when she continued to vent, “I didn’t know that once you get engaged you can’t take a shot — or when you find love you can’t take a shot! So it’s crazy how many people have an opinion about it.”

Joey Graziadei eliminated Jenn before his Final 4 women’s hometown dates on The Bachelor’s 28th season, which wrapped earlier this year on ABC.

After Jenn was named The Bachelorette’s Season 21 star in March, the franchise’s first-ever Asian lead, she packed up her bags and got ready to have the power back and hand out roses herself.

Jenn recently teased of The Bachelorette’s 21st season in an interview with Kaitlyn Bristowe at CMA Fest, “The ending of my season is also something that has never happened before.”

Jenn, however, declined to share details about her supposed never-before-seen outcome of The Bachelorette at the time.

The Bachelorette host Jesse Palmer even wrote on one of Jenn’s Instagram comments that calling her season “crazy” is “an understatement.”

In a promo of Jenn’s upcoming The Bachelorette season, Jenn boasts about how she’s “going to fall in love” and is “going to do it my way.”

She adds, “I feel more confident than ever. I feel like the main character in my own love story.”
