The Bachelor franchise host Jesse Palmer has teased that The Bachelorette is “not going away” forever despite its unexpected summer hiatus.
Reports surfaced earlier this week The Bachelorettewon’t be airing its 22nd season this summer on ABC, but the network has yet to formally announce the alleged scheduling change.

“The good news is I know it’s not going away. I know it’s definitely coming back,” Jesse, 46, confirmed during a February 11 appearance on the “Playing the Field” podcast.
“Without being able to get into too much of the creative decisions on it, I know that when it does, I just think it’s going to be absolutely tremendous.”
The last three The Bachelorette seasons have all premiered in July, but ABC will be airing Season 10 of Bachelor in Paradise this summer instead.
Sources recently told Deadline that The Bachelorette has not been canceled but the show is unlikely to return in 2025.
“I can’t get too far in depth with a lot of the creative decisions that went into that,” Jesse told the podcast’s co-hosts Ryan Field, Jen Matarese and Gina Sirico of the show’s summer break.
“I know it’s not unprecedented for The Bachelorette not to air in the summer.”
The Bachelorette’s sixteenth season, which featured both Clare Crawley and Tayshia Adams as leads, premiered in October 2020.
And Season 18 of The Bachelorette starring Michelle Young debuted in October of the following year.
“Listen, obviously I’m a little bit bummed myself just because I always love my interactions on that show with the lead,” Jesse admitted.
“I love getting to meet a whole brand new cast and I love being there to help guide people towards hopefully finding everlasting love on the show.”

But Jesse teased that once The Bachelorette “does come back,” he knows “Bachelor Nation will be really, really excited.”
Jesse is apparently a big fan of The Bachelorette and is looking forward to its return.
“The Bachelorette has been such a strong pillar inside the franchise, and I expect it to continue to be that. And I know that when the show does come back, it will continue to be that,” Jesse insisted.
In the meantime, ABC is currently airing The Bachelor starring Grant Ellis, and Jesse said a great year of television is in store for fans, despite The Bachelorette’s postponement.
“I feel really, really good about where the franchise is as a whole right now with The Golden Bachelor and The Golden Bachelorette,” Jesse shared.
“There’s just so much that I think the franchise is offering in a variety and so much diversity in a lot of different ways… I think Bachelor Nation as a whole is constantly evolving.”
Season 19 The Bachelorette star Rachel Recchia recently said on “The Ben & Ashley I: Almost Famous Podcast” that she was taken aback by the news The Bachelorette is skipping its summer season this year.
“I was shocked because I heard they picked the lead,” Rachel claimed. “I heard the lead was decided and it made sense to me who they picked. Again, rumors.”
Rachel added, “We all hear so much, but I heard this, it was like two months ago. They knew who it was going to be… I heard a name. I heard from someone who usually knows, normally it’s a good source, but I don’t know.”
Bachelor in Paradise’s premiere date for Season 10 has yet to be officially announced, but ABC had renewed The Bachelor spinoff for a tenth season in July 2024.

Bachelor in Paradise’s ninth season premiered in September 2023, and then Joan Vassos’ season of The Golden Bachelorette debuted in that Fall 2024 timeslot.
ABC is currently juggling the scheduling of The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Bachelor in Paradise, The Golden Bachelor and The Golden Bachelorette. (The franchise has also aired other spinoffs in the past such as The Bachelor Winter Games).
The first season of The Golden Bachelor starring Gerry Turner premiered in September 2023, and so ABC appears to be creating the pattern of alternating between a senior male and a senior female every other year in the fall.
It’s possible ABC may now be looking to do the same with The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise airing every other year in the summer months.
The Bachelorette’s first season premiered in 2003 and starred Trista Rehn, who had finished The Bachelor’s inaugural season starring Alex Michel in second place.
The Bachelorette has aired every year on ABC with the exception of 2006 and 2007. At the time, ABC had paused production on the spinoff and later returned with the show’s fourth season in 2008.
The latest The Bachelorette installment with Jenn Trann as its leading lady wrapped in September 2024.
The ending of The Bachelorette’s 21st season was explosive, as Jenn revealed her winner, Devin Strader, had allegedly ghosted her post-filming and dumped her over the phone during a brief conversation only weeks after they got engaged.
When The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose aired on ABC, Jenn and Devin were already broken up, and Jenn appeared absolutely devastated.
Jenn proceeded to appear on Dancing with the Stars, and she is now rumored to be dating DWTS pro Sasha Farber.
