Grant also shared how he’d love to start a family.

But according to The Bachelor star, he’s in no rush to have a baby, even if he ended up finding The One.

“Of course I do [wants kids], of course,” Grant toldAccess Hollywood in a recent interview.

When asked if it was important to him to choose a girl who wants a family, Grant replied, “Yeah, I wasn’t stressing it, because I know that comes in time.”

Grant added, “When you foster a relationship with somebody, it happens in its own time. So you can’t go in there, like, ‘I want to have kids in one year.'”

Grant — who said he wanted to find a woman who knows what she wants and has a sense of humor as well as a big heart — pointed out how “it happens when it happens” and he’s okay with that.

Grant also suggested he’s open to moving and settling down in a new place with his potential fiance.

“Wherever is right at the time,” Grant noted.

“I know right now, I love Houston. There is good real estate and really good taxes, better than [my home state of] New Jersey. So wherever is in my future, for me, I’ll decide that when the time is right.”

ABC decided to cast Grant, a 31-year-old day trader from New Jersey who currently resides in Houston, TX, as The Bachelor for Season 29 after he had his heart broken by Jenn Tran on The Bachelorette’s 21st season.

The Bachelor premiered its 29th season on Monday, January 27 on ABC, and Grant was shown sparking many connections on Night 1.

Grant called Litia Garr “very beautiful” at first sight, and when Juliana Pasquarosa stepped out of the limo, Grant murmured, “Ooh, wow! Hello!”

Grant was blown away by the beauty, poise and confidence of his 25 bachelorettes.

And during the first cocktail party of the season, Grant kissed Juliana, Litia, Allyshia Gupta, and Alexe Godin.

Grant seemed especially blown away by Alexe, who apparently showed The Bachelor star “the full picture of who she is.”

Grant shared in a confessional of Alexe, “She is funny, really smart, and she works with kids. Alexe is going to make a great mother, and that’s what I’m excited about — building my own family.”

Grant therefore ended up giving his First Impression Rose to Alexe, who will also enjoy the first one-on-one date of The Bachelor season as a result.

“She is so funny, she’s so quirky, she’s so sweet and she’s smart,” Grant gushed of Alexe, whose talkative and bubbly nature caught Grant’s attention.

“For just meeting each other, we had the most connection or spark. Everything she is embodies what I look for in a woman, and I can’t wait to get to know her more.”

The Bachelor star ended up eliminating seven women at the first Rose Ceremony of the season.

Grant ultimately denied roses to Christina Smith, J’nae Squires-Horton, Kelsey Curtis, Kyleigh Henrich, Neicey Baxter, Radhika Gupta, and Savannah Quinn.

“I have no thoughts. I honestly, truth to God, did not think I was going home tonight,” J’nae cried following her exit.

“He was somebody I could see myself with. He had all the traits, all the qualities, and I’m really just stunned. I don’t have words right now.”
