David Nicholls‘ bestseller One Day became a Netflix breakout hit as viewers fell in love with Emma and Dex. Shōgun, based on James Clavell’s 1975 novel, earned rave reviews and many fans believe it’s one of the best shows ever made.
But the books-to-TV pipeline in 2024 is just getting started. Netflix is gearing up to release Bridgerton Season 3, based on Romancing Mister Bridgerton by Julia Quinn. Prime Video continues to embrace rom-coms with The Idea of You, the Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine romance based on the novel of the same name by Robinne Lee.

Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln’s Killer by James L. Swanson was adapted into a riveting Apple TV+ series starring Outlander alum Tobias Menzies.

The Talented Mr. Ripley
Patricia Highsmith’s 1955 novel has been adapted several times, most recently by Netflix. The series, simply titled Ripley, premiered in April 4 and featured Andrew Scott in the titular role.
