Is Katy Perry rude to contestants?

Fans are noticing a lot of snap behavior with Katy Perry. They think she’s rude to the contestants this season. Katy’s already scolded two of the show’s contestants — Sara Beh Liebe and Paige Anne. Fans want to know what her problem is.

On Monday’s episode of American Idol, Katy was accused of being rude to Carina DeAngela and Nutsa Abuza. The singers struggled with their duet. They admitted their troubles with the judges. Carina admitted that they didn’t get along.

Katy wanted to know what happened. Nutsa wanted to go to bed early rather than stay up all night and practice. The “Teenage Dream” singer asked them to sing. The two sang “I Put a Spell On You” and their duet didn’t work. Katy admitted that their performance was “underwhelming.”

“I just think the energy was broken between both of you and so I think you couldn’t give each other the energy you both needed,” Katy Perry interrupted fellow judge Lionel Richie and said. “That you both deserved. I think you’re both better than that performance.”

Fans also accussed her of “bullying” and “mom-shaming” a contestant. Sara Beth Liebe had the most memorable auditions of the season for all the wrong reasons. The judges were shock to learn that she was a 25-year-old mom of three. Luke Bryan told her that she looked 16 years old.

Katy Perry joked that she’s been “laying on the table too much.” Sara Beth seemed fine with it at the time, but spoke out about it in a TikTok video. She admitted that Katy “wasn’t super kind.” Sara Beth would’ve hoped that the “California Gurls” singer would be “supporting and uplifting other women.”

Interrupted Lionel Richie?

On Tuesday’s episode of American Idol, Katy Perry interrupted Lionel Richie. The show added a new night to its lineup. Fans called her out for the way she treated him during the ABC singing competition. Katy kept speaking over him whenever they talked to the contestants.

Fans especially noticed it when Elijah McCormick and Lucy Love performed. They came up with the duo name Dunamis and were about to sing the song “My Girl.” Lionel tried to tell them that he “loved” their name before Katy Perry jumped in and suggested they should teach them Greek. He was stunned at her rudeness that he looked back down at her notes and said, “Ok.”

Katy continued to ignore him and asked them what they were going to sing. Fans on Reddit wanted to know why Katy and Luke always speak over Lionel. Others accused her of “leaving Lionel out” and “talking over him.” Fans feel a third judge would help mellow out the “dynamic” personalities.
