Call the Midwife is one of the few remaining BBC shows that gets regular updates on Netflix. That’s especially the case when it comes to the US market thanks in no small part because of its popularity. Those who want to watch new seasosns of the show can do so in the US on PBS. However, for past seasons, including Season 10, they’ll need to wait for the streaming service to update.
With it being two years since season 9 came to Netflix fans might be wondering if season 10 of Call the Midwife was ever actually going to arrive on the streamer. It turns out there’s some good news in that regard.
Call The Midwife Season 10 Won’t Be The Last
The popular BBC drama is not only looking to bring Season 10 Netlfix, but the show is slated to go on well after that finally happens. The series was renewed, for another two seasons at least, last year.
That means that while Season 11 of the show has just wrapped airing its eight-episode season in the first part of 2022, there will be at least one more run in 2023.
Usually, Netflix tends to release the last season of a program before the first one actually airs on live television. However, in the United States at least, that wasn’t the case when it came to Call the Midwife.
It’s important to note that there are some questions as to just how the situation regarding the license on Netflix is going to go and whether these new seasons will eventually land on that streaming service. The reason for some doubt is because Netflix Canada recently lost all seasons of the series.
However, it appears for now that the United States is going to be holding onto what it has as well as the new seasons at some point. It does appear that there is an official date for when Call the Midwife Season 10 will arrive on Netflix. That’s certainly good news for those who are hoping to catch up before Season 11 lands on streaming as well.
When Does It Arrive?
Originally, it was expected that the tenth season was to appear on the streaming service in the United States at some point in 2021. However, with filming delays and broadcast delays, and the COVID pandemic, that schedule never came to pass.
There were plenty of fans who were a bit worried that the show was going to be indefinitely delayed. It turns out that the wait is not that much longer.
Call the Midwife Season 10’s arrival on Netflix is actually just around the corner. The official release date is slated for March 21, 2o22. The good news about this launch is that it seems people won’t have to wait all that long until the eleventh season is also on the platform.
