America’s Next Top Model alum CariDee English has been hospitalized with a serious head injury and the reality star is using the situation as a way to help others.
On Sunday, the model took to Instagram to talk about the issue. In part, she made it clear that she wanted people who are struggling, are not alone.
CariDee English Hospitalized After Relapse
In the Instagram post explaining what happened, she first said that she wasn’t sure she was going to post what happened on Instagram at all. However, once she realized she was going to be staying over, she decided it was time to come clean.
“Early on Monday I sustained a serious head injury,” the ANTM alum wrote. “I still am putting the pieces together. I have had multiple seizures (my first) and mobility issues I’m currently fighting hard for!”
She went on to say that he close friends and family know she’s dealing with addiction. She added that she knows she was intoxicated when she suffered the head injury.
“I am going through the rollercoaster of emotions,” CariDee English wrote. “shame, depression, hope, lonliness.”
The America’s Next Top Model alum added that she understands that addiction is a disease. In fact she called it a “strong, cunning, baffling one.”

The TV personality then further explained how this all was affecting her.
“My relapse is heartbreaking to myself and the ones around me,” she wrote. “I am surrounded by compassion and a wonderful team at Cedars.”
She also offered a bit of hope for those wishing her a speedy recovery. She said that once she does get out of the hospital she’s not heading home for long.
She said that she’s going to be spending the next 6 months at an outpatient rehabilitation center. While she is there, she’ll be looking to get support so that she can really recover and get sober.
Positivity And Privacy
Perhaps knowing how social media works, CariDee English tried to make it clear she only wanted positive messages right now. That is likely the reason she also made it clear how she was feeling. She understands some will want to chide her.
The television personality is making it clear it’s not something she needs at the moment.
“I ask for positive messages and privacy,” she wrote. “I’m taking this hour to hour. Soon it will be one day at a time.”
Shortly after the model shared the post, several followers shared their support.
“This is so brave of you to post,” one follower wrote. “Sending you lots of love.”
“You’re so brave and courageous for sharing this,” another added. “Wishing you a speedy recovery on your journey to peace and happiness.”
“Sending you so many Hugs & Love,” a third wrote. “Love you and sending lots of support to you.”
