General Hospital comings and goings indicate that Kate Mansi is headed to Port Charles. The move is surprising, seeing how the former Days of Our Lives actress hasn’t been on the canvas in over five years. Here’s what you need to know.
General Hospital Replaces Lexi Ainsworth With Kate Mansi
According to Soap Opera Digest, Kate Mansi is replacing actress Lexi Ainsworth as the new Kristina Corinthos-Davis. It’s a move that has raised eyebrows among soap opera fans seeing how Lexi has played the role on and off since 2009.
While there are very few details as to why the role of Kristina Corinthos-Davis has been recast, Kate Mansi has already filmed a few episodes. Her expected air date is sometime during the week of May 22nd. General Hospital producers have not said if Kristina is back just temporarily or if she will be part of a bigger storyline moving forward.
Additionally, General Hospital producers have so far made no comments about the switch. However, Kate Mansi hint a few years back that she wanted to leave the daytime television world. More so, she wanted to pursue other opportunities in the entertainment industry. However, she has left the soap world back in the past just to return to the canvas again. Now she’s back once more.

In 2018, Kate Mansi told Soap Opera Digest that returning to Days of Our Lives as her character Abigail Deveraux wasn’t difficult. She had previously taken a one-year break. When Kate was asked how it felt to get back into character as Abigail, she said no. Kate explained, “In some ways, I don’t have to work too hard because it’s just naturally there and it’s a part of me that’s never left, but just like true to life, we change and grow and there’s more depth as time goes on.”
Meanwhile, Lexi Ainsworth has not said anything about why she left General Hospital. It’s also unclear if this is going to be a temporary recast. Furthermore, it’s also uncertain if Kate Mansi will permanently take on the role from this point forward. Either way, General Hospital fans are eager to see what’s next for Kristina and the Davis family. With all the focus on the Corinthos clan, fans want to know what’s next. Putting the spotlight on the Davis girls would certainly create a shift in all of the drama.
