Good Morning America lost Robin Roberts and Michael Strahan at the same time this week.
Hosts have been rotating in and out of the studio over the past few weeks. But Robin and Michael have perhaps spent the longest away from the studio out of all of their peers. Now, the show lost both of them on the same day. And fans are wondering what’s up. Read on to find out why Robin and Michael are out at GMA after so many absences.
Michael And Robin Missed A Lot Of Work Recently
Things are starting to get a little tense in the Good Morning America studio. Two of the show’s most popular hosts, Robin Roberts and Michael Strahan, have missed a lot of work over the past few weeks. And so far, fans have been kept in the dark.

Robin missed time earlier in the summer for a long-scheduled vacation. But after returning, she missed a few more days without any explanation. Michael, on the other hand, was not scheduled for a long vacation. Or at least, he gave fans no indication that he was planning on one. But Michael has been absent from the studio since July 20.
That has led to ample speculation online that the host is going to be moving on from the show soon. He already hosts $100,000 Pyramid. And runs a successful style brand. So it’s not like he would be out of work if he moves on from GMA.
GMA Loses Robin Roberts And Michael Strahan At The Same Time
But GMA certainly can’t afford to lose both Michael Strahan and Robin Roberts. They got another glimpse of what that would look like this week when the pair were absent together again.
On Friday, George Stephanopoulos offered no explanation and simply told viewers he was going to get “right to the news.” Deborah Roberts and Rebecca Jarvis filled in for Michael and Robin. However, they didn’t provide any explanation either. And on social media, neither Robin nor Michael gave any indication as to why they were gone.

This time of year, it’s not uncommon for hosts to take time off to enjoy the summer with their families. Robin certainly did so earlier this summer, taking time to spend with her fiance. But Michael’s extended absence, with no explanation, has fans of the former NFL star a little worried. Is he done with the show and ready to move on? It’s hard to say, and his co-hosts aren’t giving any hint of what’s to come for the show.
Do you hope that Michael Strahan stays away, or are you crossing your fingers for a return for him and Robin Roberts? Who would you like to see take his seat if he decides to leave GMA?
