Earlier in the summer, Robin took an extended leave of absence from Good Morning America. The goal was to spend more time with her fiance, Amber Laign. The two announced in January that they would be tying the knot after nearly eight years together. Over the summer, they took time to appreciate a slower lifestyle. Robin went mostly quiet on social media, before popping up again in an unexpected place.
Just before she returned to the studio, Robin reappeared for fans alongside Lara Spencer, in London. Lara snapped a fun selfie with herself and Robin, captioning it, “Girls trip to #Wimbledon.” In another pic, Lara snapped herself, Robin, and two other friends. She captioned that photo, “WME meets GMA #wimbledon.” The two provided coverage for the network’s Wimbledon segment. They enjoyed dancing and catching the matches as Robin wrapped up her time away. Soon after, Robin returned to the studio as her summer vacation came to an end.

A surprising photo of the GMA anchor caught fans by surprise. Ahead of Monday’s show, Robin stopped to snap a pic with some fans out on the street in front of the studio. She was wearing a sleek striped dress with a cream background and red, green, and orange stripes. But it wasn’t the dress that occasioned comments from fans, it was her shoes. On her feet, Robin wore a pair of black bedroom slippers with smiley-face emojis on them. The fans tagged Robin in a post sharing the photo, adding, “Enjoyed meeting you!”
