Grantchester is back with an “explosive” new season, but as always, a certain vicar-detective team is still hard at work.
The ITV mystery series’ eighth season premieres stateside on Sunday, July 9 at 9/8c as part of the PBS Masterpiece franchise, and the new episodes once again put Grantchester’s crime-solving colleagues through their paces.
At the start of Season 8, Will (Tom Brittney) is happy, and Geordie (Robson Green) and Cathy (Kacey Ainsworth) are content in their relationship, PBS explains. “But an accident and shocking announcements threaten the stability and happiness found by Grantchester’s vicar and police detective duo,” the network adds. “Exploring faith, forgiveness, and redemption, this explosive season of Grantchester tests Will and Geordie to the limit.”
