Jessa Seewald Makes Outrageous Claim, Fans Aren‘t Buying It

TV Shows

Jessa Seewald is one proud mama. The woman formerly known as Jessa Duggar isn’t afraid to share that pride with her social media followers.

However, it appears some of those followers think she gets carried away at times. That’s certainly the case when it comes to her latest claims about son Spurgeon.

In fact, when she took to social media to brag on her kid, she took some serious fire. Several people called Jessa Seewald out for her outrageous claim. The question is whether or not she should really be believed.

Jessa Seewald Makes Outrageous Claim That Takes Heat

The claim that has drawn such ire? That Spurgeon found a book that he really loved and that he ended up sitting down and reading it pretty much non stop.

In fact, she claimed he read about 180 of its 210 pages in an afternoon. She also claimed that the only time he stopped was for lunch. Jessa Seewald made it clear that she had to insist he even take that small a break.

While the proud momma probably expected words of encouragement, it appears that more than a few fans had some real problems with her claim.

Over on Reddit, one user posted an image of her Instagram bragging on her kid with the caption, “Sure, Jan…I mean Jessa. Six year olds always sit for four hours reading.”

That comment was quickly joined by others who expressed doubt over the situation.

However, more than the people who didn’t really believe the claims about Spurgeon, several people saw the opportunity to take a direct shot at Jessa and the rest of her family.

“The sooner the Spurge learns to read well, the sooner he can teach the rest of the kids,” one Redditor commented.

That post was followed immediately by “and his parents.”

Another user commented that it was “cute” that Spurgeon gets books from Aunt Joy. However, one response to that was clearly an insult aimed at Joy Duggar.

“She passes on the ones she finds to frustrating to get through,” they wrote.

Some Fans Have Her Back

While there were plenty of rude comments about Jessa Seewald’s latest post, there were those who came to her defense as well.

“I mean,” one user posted simply. “I did at that age.”

It didn’t take long for others to join in and explain that they loved reading longer books at that age.

“I did too,” another commented. “I was reading babysitters club way younger than I should have been and my parents needed to ration my reading time. Sadly didn’t carry my book obsession into adulthood but I am still a constant reader (just on a phone now!)”

Do you think Jessa Seewald made an outrageous claim? Or can you relate?
