The Kardashian women are getting slammed for exploiting Kourtney Kardashian’s eldest son, Mason Disick. He has remained fairly lowkey over the last few years except for a few photos. So, what is it that his aunts did that caused such an uproar? Keep reading for more details.
Kardashian Women Slammed For Exploiting Mason Disick
When Kourtney Kardashian announced that she was pregnant, it was a huge deal. At the time, she and her then-boyfriend, Scott Disick were somewhat estranged. She had taken off to Miami to film a spinoff with her younger sister, Khloe Kardashian and they were living their best single lives. Then, Scott came to see her and she ended up pregnant. She welcomed Mason Dash Disick in 2009 and that started the influx of grandchildren. Kourt and Scott had two more children, Reign and Penelope before calling it quits. She moved on with Travis Barker and they recently welcomed Rocky Thirteen.
As Mason has gotten older, he has stayed out of the spotlight unless he is seen with his father. Yet, he recently started his own Instagram account. The moment that this happened, his aunts were all over this and telling everyone to go follow him. They tried to say that they could not believe he was old enough to have social media but fans felt he was being exploited and they started a Reddit thread:
- why are the aunts publicizing and pushing their followers to follow Mason on IG? he wasn’t on this Hulu season(or minimal), he is young, etc….can’t the kid just have an account to interact with his friends?!?
So far, Mason Disick has over 700K followers, including Khloe and Kim Kardashian as well as his mother. Did other fans feel that his aunts went too far, as well?
- To get him followers so he can start making influencer money, which they wouldn’t have done if he didn’t want them to.
- Money. Period.
- Maybe this is their version of a lemonade stand.

It appears that this is all justified because Kardashian fans believe that Mason Disick wanted his aunts to do this. Getting followers is the only way that he can monetize himself on social media so they were only helping him out. At this point, Mason has just three posts and comments from his father, Scott Disick. Aside from that, he is not pushing products that he likes or anything of that nature. Maybe he is waiting to get brand endorsements. For now, it looks like this was not as much exploitation as helping Mason make some cash.
