When Calls The Heart alum Lori Loughlin is starring in the new Amazon Prime series On Call. She portrays a stoic and hardened police officer in this Dick Wolf series. Moreover, this role has given her a “new appreciation for law enforcement.” This is after she had spent a lot of time around them when she was indicted in the Operation Varsity Blues scandal and spent two months in jail.
What does the Full House alum have to say about her new role as Lieutenant Bishop?

Lori Loughlin Has Developed New Appreciation For Law Enforcement
Great American Family star Lori Loughlin is starring in the new Dick Wolf Amazon Prime series On Call. In this new series, the actress portrays Lieutenant Bishop, a stoic, hardened police officer who has seen more than she will ever share. To prepare for this role, Loughlin went on police ride-alongs. This helped her research her role.
When recently speaking to Entertainment Tonight’s Deidre Behar, she made an unexpected revelation about this preparation. “It was really exciting and gave me a whole new appreciation for law enforcement.”
The series stars Troian Bellisario who plays a stoic veteran police officer, and Brandon Larracuente, the rookie she is training. They patrol Long Beach, where things can be rough and unexpected. It seems that Bellisario’s character is a target. Moreover, Loughlin plays the tough Lieutenant Bishop. This is not a fluffy romcom or cheesy family comedy that she has built her career on. This is a gritty role.

Lori Loughlin Is A Bad** In On Call
For years, Lori Loughlin has been known as bubbly Aunt Becky, or earnest Abigail Stanton in her most iconic roles. However, she has revealed her role as Lt. Bishop in Dick Wolf’s On Call is nothing like those characters. She even uses language to describe Bishop as “bad**.”
I didn’t know I had it in me to be that bada**. I was game for anything. When I first showed up, they said, ‘Your highlights are gonna go.’ And I was like, ‘Fine’
Lori was willing to take on this role because it was a Dick Wolf production. She shared she “jumped at the chance,” to be in this project. She added, “I was so excited.”
This year seems to have ushered in a new era for Loughlin. Earlier in the year, she was on Curb Your Enthusiasm, making fun of herself. She was also In one of the final episodes of Blue Bloods.
