The spinoff was previously celebrated during a Valentine’s Day-timed live stream event in which fans were treated to the first teaser and new images for the Queen Charlotte-centric six-episode limited series. The live stream featured a panel discussion with Shonda Rhimes, cast members Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), India Amarteifio (Young Queen Charlotte), Corey Mylchreest (Young King George), Arsema Thomas (Young Lady Danbury), as well as taped appearances by Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury) and Ruth Gemmell (Lady Violet Bridgerton). The conversation in February teased what viewers can expect from the series and how it relates to the Bridgerton universe and much more. Along with unveiling the teaser and photos, Netflix’s live stream also gave fans the opportunity to watch never-before-seen clips of the upcoming series. Additionally, Rosheuvel announced that this Spring, Her Majesty will bring The Queen’s Ball: A Bridgerton Experience to New York City. Co-produced by Netflix, Shondaland, and Fever, the waitlist is now open for fans to register and learn more about the ball here.

For those less familiar with the Bridgerton spinoff, Queen Charlotte focuses on Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence and power in this prequel which tells the story of how the young Queen’s marriage to King George sparked a great love story and a societal shift, influencing the world of the Ton inherited by the characters in Bridgerton.

Rhimes serves as showrunner and writer on the series which she executive produces with director Tom Verica and Betsy Beers. See the trailer above, and catch the first-look photos featuring stars such as Rosheuvel, Andoh, Gemmell, Amartifio, Thomas, Mylchreest, Michelle Fairley, and many more. And don’t miss Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story when the show arrives later this spring on Netflix.
