The top six dancers take on the DWTS semifinals

There were plenty of amazing routines tonight and even one pleasant surprise. After performing the first dance of the night with her partner Wayne Brady, Witney Carson expected that she is expecting another baby. On top of that, head judge Len Goodman announced that Season 31 would be his last. He’s retiring at the end of the season. It was a bittersweet moment for everyone, but DWTS fans really wish him all the best.

There were many fantastic dances all night long. There were several 10s and even a few perfect routines. But who ultimately took home the highest score of the night?

It really won’t come as a shock to many fans that Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas once again dominated the leaderboard during the DWTS semifinals. They received perfect scores for both their routines tonight. But it was their Paso Doble in particular that got a lot of attention from judges. Carrie Ann Inaba even ran up to hug the couple after they completed their routine.

Gabby Windey and Val Chmerkovskiy also earned a perfect score for their Paso Doble, which invoked a strong response from the judges and audience members alike. They actually managed to tie with Mark and Charli for the top spot at the leaderboard. Both couples successfully made it through to the finale, which didn’t come as a surprise to many.

Two couples did have to go home at the end of the night, however. Daniel Durant and Britt Stewart were eliminated at the end of the night, along with Trevor Donovan and Emma Slater.
