Supernatural‘s spinoff series The Winchesters made a big debut on CW on Tuesday. It is now flaunting a big achievement. Fans have been excited about the series ever since it was announced back on June 24, 2021. The parent series Supernatural had a massive fan following with a total of 15 seasons. Ever since the finale episode aired on November 19, 2020, fans wanted more of the story of John and Mary Winchester. So, what is this big achievement bagged by The Winchesters?
The Winchesters Is CW’s Most-Watched Series Since June
The Winchesters has bagged the title of the most-watched CW series premiere this fall. On the day of its debut, the series brought in a total of 781,000 viewers. These numbers also make the series the most-watched telecast by the network in the same time slot since the finale of Superman & Lois Season 2 happened in June.

However, this isn’t the only big announcement by the network about the latest spinoff series.
Smallville Alum Tom Welling Joins The Winchesters Cast
Over the weekend, the network announced at the New York Comic Con that Smallville alum Tom Welling is now a part of the series cast. As per ComicBook, Welling is cast in the role of Samuel Campbell, Mary’s father, and Sam and Dean’s grandfather. This character was portrayed by Mitch Pileggi in the original Supernatural series.

The official synopsis of The Winchesters series reads:
“Before Sam and Dean, there was John and Mary. Told from the perspective of Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles), The Winchesters is the epic, untold love story of how John met Mary and how they put it all on the line not only to save their love but the entire world.”

The series dives deep into Sam and Dean’s parents’ life which wasn’t discussed much in the Supernatural series. Although Jared Padalecki isn’t a part of this spinoff, Jensen Ackles will be narrating the story. The possibility of a spinoff about Mary and John Winchesters was already established back in the original series. The Winchesters will show more of their lineage as members of the Men Of Letters and as a family dedicated to hunting down the monsters.
When Will The Winchesters Season 1 Episode 2 Air?
Talking about the series before its premiere, Jensen said, “That’s kind of the exciting thing, in my opinion, is that the waypoints or the tentpoles that were established on the mothership, as we lovingly call it, those will get touched on. But we’ll get to those waypoints in a way that we probably didn’t expect. And that’s what we’re really having fun with is, like, the story is coming together. It’s not the washed version. It’s not the sugar-coated version of how mom and dad met. This is like what really happened.”

Apart from Ackles as the narrator, The Winchesters cast includes Drake Rodger as John Winchester, Demetria McKinney as Ada Monroe, Bianca Kajilich as Millie Winchester, and so on. The Winchesters airs episodes every Tuesday on CW with Episode 2 slated to air on October 18, 2022.
