Today co-host Dylan Dreyer pulled double duty on Thanksgiving and fans are impressed. She filled in for Al Roker, who is recovering from multiple blood clots. For the first time in 27 years, the beloved weatherman missed out on Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Most of the fans were disappointed with the live broadcast. As TV Shows Ace previously reported, most of them took to Twitter to declare Thanksgiving “canceled.” They felt there was no point in celebrating the holiday without Al Roker there.

Dylan Dreyer gets major praise from Today Show fans
While most Today fans are missing Al Roker, others were loving Dylan Dreyer on the streets of NYC. They think she was the perfect replacement for the fan-favorite. She joined fellow co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb as part of NBC’s coverage of the annual Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Al Roker missed out on the event for the first time in 27 years after he was hospitalized for blood clots. Thankfully, the meteorologist is doing much better. He left the hospital on Thanksgiving Day to be with his family. Savannah, Hoda, and Dylan shared their thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.
Meanwhile, Today fans took to Twitter to praise Dylan Dreyer’s coverage of the parade. Most of them shared similar words. They thought she was “awesome” and that she “rocked” the coverage. Even Dylan’s co-host Sheinelle Jones shared her appreciation for on her Instagram account.

In her Instagram post, Dylan Dreyer revealed that she went home after the parade to spend Thanksgiving Day with her family. She hosted dinner at her house after co-hosting the live event. Dylan also shared that Al Roker was “sincerely missed this year.” She concluded her message by wishing her fans and followers a happy Thanksgiving.
Awkward phone conversation with President Joe Biden
However, some Today fans are still cringing over her awkward conversation with President Joe Biden. The official Today Show Instagram account shared a clip of it. At first, there were technical issues with their call. You can’t always trust cell phones to work. However, fans were placing the blame on either the President of the United States or Dylan Dreyer herself.
