Season 5 of TLC’s hit reality show Unexpected just began yet fans already have thoughts on cast member Jason Korpi. He is the boyfriend to Kylen Smith who is pregnant with the couple’s first child and a newcomer to the series. Sadly, his controlling ways have caused issues long before the show started airing.
Expect The Unexpected
Kylen Smith is a teenager in love when she finds out she is expecting her first baby with her boyfriend, Jason. The couple hails from New Hampshire and he appears to have a hold over her. This becomes abundantly clear just from the Season 5 preview. Her parents are seen crying and fighting over Kylen. They want to see their daughter and watch as she gets ready to become a first-time mother. Yet, just as much as they want to see their daughter, they want to meet their grandchild.
It appears the biggest hurdle Kylen’s parents have is Jason. As revealed via Starcasm, he made several TikTok videos. In one of them, there were visible holes punched in the wall. This led to physical assault allegations prior to the season even beginning. Now viewers have actually seen Jason and they have developed very strong feelings for him one episode in. Finally, viewers took to Twitter during the season premiere to express their disdain.
Jason Korpi- ‘Waste Of Space’
As the new season of Unexpected began, fans were eager to see the two new castmembers, Emersyn Potter and Kylen. Unfortunately, Kylen’s boyfriend Jason left little to be desired. The seventeen-year-old first-time mom expressed how she wanted to have a hospital birth. However, the first time father believed a homebirth would be better as he feared he would be left out at the hospital. More so, this was the debate that had viewers frustrated with Jason as seen on Meaww.
“Jason should not be dictating out she should give birth. It’s her body in her experience,” one viewer tweeted. “I’m sorry to say I hate Jason. I bet even his parents hate him. But they raised this menace,” another added. Above all, one follower had these kind words to say: “Jason is a waste of space. Kylen needs to run.” Sadly it seems like Kylen and Jason are still together according to her private Instagram. The two welcomed their first child, a boy, last summer.
