Whoopi Goldberg is on the verge of getting canceled but there is at least one person rooting for her to come through it. And that person is not who most would expect to come to The View host’s defense. In fact, it’s safe to say most would expect this to be the last place the liberal comedian and actress would get any kind words from.
It’s possible that one reason the talk show host is getting this support is that her new supporter has been under the same kind of fire in the past. There have been more than a few people who have wanted him canceled, but literally and figuratively.
Whoopi Goldberg Getting Support From Surprise Source
The View host finds herself in trouble after making comments earlier this week that many people found deeply offensive. Whoopi Goldberg claimed that The Holocaust didn’t have anything to do with race.
Not long after she made those comments, the internet went wild. Once the reactions started pouring in, ABC suspended her.
While her cohosts were against this particular punishment, it appears that she’s going to serve out her punishment. At the same time, there are some who believe that she isn’t being punished enough. There are more than a few people who want her fired. They want her entirely canceled.

With most of the internet turning against the comedian and award-winning actress, it might shock some to learn that Sean Hannity appears to be in her corner.
He came to the defense of The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg on Tuesday’s episode of Hannity, shortly after the news broke that Goldberg had been suspended for two weeks by ABC.
In his defense of Whoopi Goldberg, he pointed to her apology as the reason she should be let off the hook.
“I think her apology is sincere. I think she’s learned a lot in the process. If two weeks off is the penalty, it’s better than being canceled,” Hannity said. “And I just — I have just a reflexive reaction to cancel because I don’t like what somebody says because you don’t have to watch The View. I hate to tell you, I don’t watch The View.”
Not Letting Her Off The Hook
While Hannity did think that Whoopi Goldberg was sincere in her apology, it wasn’t like he let her off the hook entirely. He still seemed to think what she said was rather reprehensible.
“She recognized the evil, but did she not know the history, or did she just negate the history?” Hannity asked his audience. “She recognized evil, man’s inhumanity to man. Six million Jews were slaughtered. Millions others, slaughtered.”
While the nightly talk show host isn’t going to go to bat for her completely, it was still an interesting juxtaposition to see Whoopi Goldberg get support from such an unlikely source.
