Chicago P.D.‘s Season 7 finale can be one to recollect. Wednesday’s episode, airing at 10/9c on NBC, finds Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) in a tough place as he comes nose to nose with Tom Doyle (Mickey O’Sullivan), the racist police supply who put a gun to his head in Season 6’s “Night time in Chicago.” Suffice it to say, this reunion will not be a very nice one for both man.

“It is an surprising reunion that neither man is worked up about, particularly Atwater,” showrunner Rick Eid informed TV Information. “Doyle put a gun to Atwater’s head when he was working undercover, so to be blunt: Atwater thinks he is a racist a–hole. Doyle, alternatively, feels responsible about what went down final 12 months and want to make amends.”

“Silence of the Night time” is poised to be an emotionally-charged hour because the present revisits Season 6’s visceral Black Lives Matter story. Atwater will once more be pressured to guage his identities as each black man and a police officer whereas confronted with one other ethical dilemma involving Doyle. However given the complexity of the scenario, do not count on issues to be utterly resolved when the credit fade to black.

“It’s going to make him be ok with himself (for a couple of minutes anyway), however there can be no closure,” Eid added. “The problems addressed are too difficult to wrap up in a bow. The selection Atwater makes on this episode is courageous, however like Ray Value mentioned: there is a price to being courageous. So, Atwater goes to need to take care of the results.”

See the way it all goes down when Chicago P.D.’s Season 7 finale airs Wednesday, April 15 at 10/9c on NBC.
