Oliver Prepares for Death in Arrow Season 8 Trailer

Breaking News

Two things are for certain in the final season of Arrow: a crisis is coming and Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) is going to die. The extended trailer for the series’ final episodes reveal Oliver preparing for both, and as to be expected, that means a lot of fighting and kicking people in the face.

The crisis, of course, refers to the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event coming later this fall, where we already know that Oliver is going to sacrifice himself per the deal he made with The Monitor in last season’s crossover.

The details and circumstances around how Oliver will die are still to be revealed, but the trailer shows that Oliver’s primary focus in Arrow‘s final season is making sure that his loved ones are safe and taken care of before he has to leave them. Yes, we also got weepy as he wistfully looked at the photo of Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and baby Mia (Kat McNamara).

Along with the emotions and fighting sequences, there were also some familiar faces that popped up in the clip. Thea (Willa Holland) will return for at least one more adventure with her brother and there was a brief, ominous, glimpse at Tommy Merlyn (Colin Donnell), shooting Oliver a death glare at a night club.

Arrow premieres Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 8/7c on The CW.
