The CW Picks Up Full Seasons of Batwoman and Nancy Drew

Breaking News

Strong women continue to dominate at The CW. The network is giving its two new fall dramas, Batwoman and Nancy Drew, full-season orders, it was announced Friday. Each show will get an additional nine episodes, bringing each of their first seasons up to 22 episodes.

Batwoman takes place in Gotham three years after the mysterious disappearance of Batman. Ruby Rose stars as Kate Kane, the female caped crusader — and, not so coincidentally, Bruce Wayne’s cousin.

Meanwhile, Nancy Drew stars Kennedy McMann as a wiser, post-high school version of the iconic sleuth. Reeling from the death of her mother, Nancy has sworn off crime-solving, but when a socialite is murdered, Nancy has to find the killer to eliminate herself and her friends from the suspect list. Nancy Drew also incorporates supernatural elements.

Per The CW, both shows have performed well on DVR and streaming.

Batwoman airs Sundays at 8/7c on The CW.

Nancy Drew airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on The CW.
