Daniel Ings, The Gentlemen
Christopher Rafael/NetflixAt the start of 2020, filmmaker Guy Ritchie released his film The Gentlemen, a wacky, over-the-top crime caper intended as a throwback to his early films likeSnatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. And apparently the powers-that-be at Netflix liked it so much that they asked Ritchie to turn that general concept — hijinks involving cannabis farms hidden under the estates of noble English families — into a series. And that’s exactly what he did.
The series adaptation, also called The Gentlemen, focuses on Theo James as Eddie Horniman, the younger son of the Duke of Halstead who unexpectedly inherits the estate when his father dies, passing over his older brother Freddy (Daniel Ings), who is just too much of a clown to be the Duke. Freddy also, unfortunately, has some big debts to some very bad people. Eddie plans to sell the estate to pay those debts, but changes his mind when he learns his new estate houses a secret weed farm run by a nice young lady named Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario). And from there, things get really weird.
We’ve had a frustratingly-long hiatus for The Gentlemen, which first dropped on Netflix all the way back in March of 2024 — so it’s been two years and counting! Fortunately, Season 2 is finally coming into view. Scroll on to see what we know about Season 2 so far.

The Gentlemen Season 2 latest news
Season 2 of The Gentlemen is becoming increasingly tangible now. In early July, Netflix dropped a teaser, a batch of first-look images, and the premiere date all at once. It’s officially time to start getting hyped.
The Gentlemen Season 2 release date
The second season of The Gentlemen is slated to release in full on Netflix on Sept. 3, 2026.
The first teaser for the new season of The Gentlemen
This 75-second teaser give us glimpses at the dangerous new folks that Eddie and Susie will contend with in Season 2, as well as some of the action they’ll get involved with — it’s looking like quite a rabbit hole we’ll be diving into.
Pics from The Gentlemen Season 2
In addition to that trailer, we’ve also got an array of new pictures from the new season, courtesy of Netflix. A dozen still images aren’t going to be as illumating as that trailer was, but there are certainly some details to glean from these new shots.

The Gentlemen Season 2 cast and crew
Guy Ritchie co-wrote and directed The Gentlemen Season 2, just as he did Season 1, with co-writer Matthew Read also returning to help craft the new season. Eran Creevy, who directed two episodes in Season 1, also returned to do the same in Season 2.
On the cast side, the three main folks — James, Scodelario, and Ings — are also back, which is not very surprising since the story is about them. Now that Season 2 has completed production, we’ve learned that basically everybody else is coming back too, and they’re bringing with them a very interesting slate of new folks, which include Hugh Bonneville and Michele Morrone. Boxer Chris Eubank Jr. will apparently have a role to play as well.
Where Season 1 of The Gentlemen left off
After a lot of back and forth, it appeared as though Stanley Johnston was poised to take control of the Horniman’s estate, but a number of Eddie’s behind-the-scenes machinations came to fruition at just the right moment, and Johnston was arrested for a whole pile of crimes, including murder, before he was able to complete the deal. With Johnstone out of the way, and despite the fact that he spent half the season trying to escape from his family’s arrangement with Susie and her father, Eddie decides to go all in on the drug business.
The Gentlemen Season 2 storyline
We don’t know a ton of details about where the story will go in Season 2, but there will be a one-year time jump between seasons. Here’s what we’ve got from Netflix so far:
“It’s been one year since Eddie and Susie joined forces to work together in Bobby’s criminal empire overseas. As they drive to expand their enterprise, the decisions Bobby is making seem to be increasingly unsound. Now Eddie and Susie must decide whether to take action or risk losing it all, but unfettered ambition never ends well…”
That’s pretty vague, but it looks like Season 2 may pit the youngins against the old man. But this is still a Guy Ritchie story, so you can bet it’ll be a lot more complicated than just that, especially with an ensemble this massive.
