The mystery is solved. The Afterparty won’t be getting a third season, at least not on Apple TV+. The streamer has cancelled the murder-mystery comedy series after two seasons. Chris Miller created the show.

Starring Tiffany Haddish, Sam Richardson, and Zoë Chao, the Apple TV+ anthology series features Detective Danner (Haddish) investigating a different murder each season with a new cast of suspects.  The first season takes place at her high school reunion while season two finds Danner and her team investigating the murder of a groom at his wedding.

Guests in the two seasons have included Ike Barinholtz, Ben Schwartz, Ilana Glazer, Jamie Demetriou, Dave Franco, John Cho, Paul Walter Hauser, Ken Jeong, Anna Konkle, Poppy Liu, Elizabeth Perkins, Jack Whitehall, Zach Woods, and Vivian Wu.

The series debuted in January 2022, was renewed in March 2022, and the second season launched in July of this year. Across the two seasons, 18 episodes were produced.

Per Deadline, Sony Pictures Television plans to shop the series to other outlets.
