There’s been a change of plans at Netflix. The streaming service beforehand renewed The Society TV collection for a second season. Now, these plans have been cancelled as a result of COVID-19.

A thriller drama, The Society stars Rachel Keller, Kathryn Newton, Alex Fitzalan, Kristine Froseth, Jacques Colimon, Sean Berdy, Toby Wallace, Gideon Adlon, Olivia DeJonge, Alex MacNicoll, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Jose Julian, Salena Qureshi, Jack Mulhern, and Grace Victoria Cox. This contemporary retelling of Lord of the Flies facilities on college students from a rich New England enclave, who return house from a scrubbed tenting journey to seek out everybody they left behind has vanished. Whereas at first, they determine to make the most of the state of affairs, it quickly turns into clear they should set up some form of social order, whereas they determine what has occurred to them and the place they are surely.

The first season of 10 episodes was launched on Could 10th in 2019. The Society was renewed for a second season a few months later and plans had been underway for the present’s return. Now, because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, season two received’t be produced.

Newton addressed the cancellation in a video on Instagram. The actress is “heartbroken” by the information and shared that, “All of us actually needed to return… All the pieces was written. I can’t even consider it. … I’m so unhappy. I cherished The Society a lot. I cherished Allie. And I cherished our solid.”
