Will order ever be restored to the chaotic town of Adamczycha? Probably not, but we’re going to get at least one more season of the smash-hit Polish mockumentary to find out! Netflix has officially confirmed that 1670 is returning for a fourth season in 2027.

1670 has quietly become one of Netflix’s longest-running and most beloved international period comedies. After breaking out as a massive domestic hit during its first season (which spent an impressive 91 days in the Polish Top 10s according to FlixPatrol, and charted in about a dozen other countries), the series quickly earned renewals that defied Netflix’s usual 31-day viewership metric rules.

While it may not be a global juggernaut on the scale of some English-language titles, its phenomenal local reception allowed creators to push the boundaries of their universe. Following a highly successful second season in late 2025, and the recent arrival of season 3 on August 5th, 2026, Netflix has already pulled the trigger on season 4.

This renewal is a major milestone: 1670 is officially the very first Polish Netflix Original series to reach a fourth season. For longtime followers of the show, this news shouldn’t come as a complete surprise. As we covered previously, the filmmakers admitted during a session at the Museum in Kolbuszowa that they ultimately had a 4-season plan for the show. Now, they are officially getting to see that plan through!

How was Season 4 announced?

In true 1670 fashion, the season 4 announcement was just as wonderfully absurd as the show itself.

During the final hours of the “Panorama 1670” exhibition at Centennial Hall in Wrocław, series star Bartłomiej Topa—in full sarmatian majesty as the beloved patriarch Jan Paweł Adamczewski—literally hatched out of a giant symbolic egg to share the news with the world.

Lucky fans attending the exhibition were the first to find out, alongside viewers from around the globe who had been tuning in to a bizarre 24-hour live stream of the giant egg on Netflix’s YouTube channel.

Speaking about the stunt, Bartłomiej Topa shared his excitement for the show’s continued success:

“Announcing the continuation of the Adamczewski family’s fate from inside a giant egg was a wonderfully absurd experience in the style of Jan Paweł! For me and the entire 1670 crew, there is no greater reward than observing fans who live and breathe this series and love it just as much as I do.”

Łukasz Kłuskiewicz, Director of Local Language Originals in Central and Eastern Europe at Netflix, also weighed in on the historic renewal and the massive cultural footprint the show has left behind in Poland:

“Three seasons of 1670 are behind us, and fan reactions in Poland and abroad continue to surprise – it’s the best proof that it’s worth betting on original ideas from Polish creators. The scale of the ‘1670 effect’ – the series’ impact on language, pop culture, tourism, and other areas of social life – is shown in the report published before the opening of ‘Panorama 1670’. It will be even more interesting to follow how it develops after season 4 – because 1670, as the first Polish Netflix Original series, is getting a fourth installment.”

When will 1670 Season 4 be on Netflix?

No exact release date has been set just yet, but Netflix has confirmed a 2027 release window. Assuming this will be the final chapter of their original 4-season plan, we can likely expect them to go all out.
