Saddle up, US Heartland fans! After months of waiting and dodging spoilers from our international neighbors, we finally have the news you’ve been waiting for: Season 19 of the beloved Canadian family drama is officially coming to Netflix US next month. As production on a milestone Season 20 also begins to wind down, here is your complete, updated guide to the future of Heartland on Netflix.

Because Heartland is a licensed title with different broadcast agreements worldwide, its rollout on Netflix varies wildly depending on where you live. While international audiences have been enjoying the latest episodes for a while, US viewers are usually stuck behind a lengthy exclusivity window.

Thankfully, that wait is almost over.

When will Heartland Season 19 be on Netflix in the US?

Let’s get right to the biggest news: Heartland Season 19 will officially premiere on Netflix US on September 1st, 2026.

Traditionally, Netflix US is about a year behind other regions because UPtv (Up Faith and Family) holds the first-run rights in the States. Season 19 began airing on UPtv on March 19th, 2026. Initially, we projected that the standard exclusivity window would keep the show off Netflix US until early 2027. Luckily for subscribers, that timeline has shifted, and all 10 episodes of Season 19 will be dropping right in time for the fall!

We can also confirm that Netflix has the rights to the show through at least September 2028 in the US, meaning we shouldn’t get a removal scare like we did last year anytime soon.

What about Netflix in International Regions?

If you live outside the United States in regions like the United Kingdom or Australia, you’ve already been streaming the latest season for quite some time. International fans received Season 19 much sooner than those in the States. All 10 episodes touched down on Netflix internationally back in March 2026.

On the flip side, international regions are still missing the older seasons (1 through 6), which were removed in 2022 and have yet to return.

What to Expect From Season 19 of Heartland

Warning: Minor setup spoilers for Season 19 below!

Following a cliffhanger finale in Season 18, the Bartlett-Fleming family faces new external threats that could change the ranch forever. Amy is navigating her blossoming relationship with Nathan Pryce. However, she must balance this new love with her responsibilities as a mother and her professional reputation, which comes under fire this season.

Meanwhile, Jack Bartlett finds his patience tested by an unlikely and inexperienced new ranch hand named Dex, and worst of all, a new adversary threatens the ranch, forcing Lou to make difficult choices to protect her family’s legacy.

Season 19 features the familiar cast you know and love, but also includes some fresh faces: Kamaia Fairburn as River, Dylan Hawco as Dex, and Linda Boyd as Tammy Stillman, Lisa’s long-lost sister.

What’s going on with Season 20 of Heartland?

The Heartland machine isn’t slowing down! CBC formally renewed the show for a milestone Season 20 earlier this year.

Production officially got underway on May 12, 2026, in Calgary, Alberta, and cameras are rolling right now! Filming is scheduled to wrap up at the end of this month on August 30, 2026.
The new season is set to premiere on CBC and CBC Gem in Canada in Fall 2026. Following the release schedules we’ve seen this year, that suggests an early-to-mid 2027 international debut on Netflix, and likely a late 2027 or 2028 release for Netflix US.

There are still unconfirmed rumors among the fandom that Season 20 may be the show’s last. Fingers crossed that won’t be the case, but if it is, what a heck of a run this show has had.
