April has already been a stacked month for licensed anime, but Jujutsu Kaisen, its prequel movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0, and Dr. Stone are coming to Netflix in May 2024.
As you may know, Netflix has been on a licensing binge lately, particularly in the US and globally. This includes scripted shows from distributors like Disney, Paramount, and Warner Bros., but it also extends to anime. April saw the additions of Black Clover, Konosuba, Haikyu, Mob Psycho, and Overlord.
What we thought would be a quiet May for Netflix couldn’t be farther from the truth. Alongside some exciting originals, May will see the addition of the extremely popular Jujutsu Kaisen and Dr. Stone.
When is Jujutsu Kaisen Coming to Netflix?
We can confirm that Jujutsu Kaisen will come to Netflix on May 1st, 2024. The date isn’t currently listed on the Netflix App or web browser at the time of writing. However, you can still set a reminder.
It remains unclear if the series will land on Netflix with the second season.
What is the plot of Jujutsu Kaisen?
To save his Occult Research Club friends from a curse, high schooler Yuji Itadori swallows a cursed object that houses the extremely powerful curse Sukuna. Itadori can retain his body but is sentenced to death by the Jujutsu sorcerers, an order of influential cursed users that exorcise curses. His death sentence is postponed when Itadori agrees to join the Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School, where he will learn how to use cursed energy and find the remaining fingers of Sakuna.
