Netflix is continuing its massive push into live sports programming, and this time, they’re stepping up to the oche. Netflix UK has just announced a brand-new live special titled Beat Luke Littler, which will see everyday pub players and amateur darts enthusiasts go head-to-head with the sport’s biggest superstar for a life-changing cash prize. The special is set to broadcast live on Netflix on Friday, October 30, 2026.
Who is Luke Littler?
If you aren’t familiar with the UK darts scene or international sports, you might be wondering who exactly Luke Littler is. Nicknamed “The Nuke,” the 19-year-old is an absolute darts prodigy who took the sporting world by storm. At just 16 years old, he reached the final of the 2023/24 PDC World Darts Championship, captivating millions of viewers around the globe. Since that explosive debut, his meteoric rise has only continued: he is now a two-time back-to-back World Darts Champion (winning the title in both 2025 and 2026) and sits comfortably as the world number one. Known for his devastating scoring accuracy and incredibly nonchalant playing style, Littler has transcended the sport to become a mainstream cultural phenomenon.
What is the ‘Beat Luke Littler’ Event?
In this ultimate David vs. Goliath high-stakes challenge, 20 chosen amateur darts players will get a single perfect leg of 501 to try and take down “The Nuke” on live television. The prize? A staggering £501,000 to anyone who can pull off the impossible.
“Everyone thinks they can beat me,” Littler said in the event’s promotional video after swiping through confident social media comments from fans. “Now they get a chance to prove it. Bring it on”.
Banijay UK is putting the event together for Netflix.
How to Apply
If you fancy your chances against the greatest darts player on the planet, casting is open now! Open regional heats will be held in London and Manchester in September 2026. However, before you grab your arrows, make sure you meet the official eligibility requirements:
- You have or will have the right to legally reside in or travel to the U.K. for the duration of the production if selected.
- You are aged 18 or over, or, if applying on behalf of a minor, the minor is or will be aged 12 or over on October 13, 2026.
- Amateurs only: You are not currently, and have never previously been, a Professional Darts Corporation (“PDC”) Tour Card holder.
