The hype train for the final season of Outer Banks is moving at full speed. Just days after Netflix shattered the internet with that explosive final trailer—sending us all into a spiral wondering if the Pogues’ plan to use the mythical Blue Crown will actually bring JJ back from the dead—the streamer has another treat to help us say goodbye to our favorite treasure hunters.
Following in the highly successful footsteps of the recent Bridgerton and One Piece companion podcasts, Netflix is officially launching Outer Banks: The Official Podcast.
Hosted by longtime OBX super-fan and Chicks in the Office co-host Ria Ciuffo, the brand-new six-episode series will celebrate the fifth and final season of the massive cultural phenomenon.

What to Expect from the Official Podcast
Dropping on August 20, 2026—the exact same day the 10-episode final season hits Netflix—the podcast is designed to be the ultimate companion piece as fans binge their way through the crew’s last ride.
The format breaks down into intimate, one-on-one deep dives and emotional group reflections:
- Episodes 1-5: Host Ria Ciuffo will sit down for one-on-one interviews with each of the core Pogue cast members: Chase Stokes (John B), Madelyn Cline (Sarah Cameron), Madison Bailey (Kiara Carrera), Jonathan Daviss (Pope Heyward), and Carlacia Grant (Cleo Anderson). They’ll be revisiting their characters’ wild journeys, breaking down key storylines, and sharing behind-the-scenes experiences.
- Episode 6 (The Finale): Prepare for some tears. The podcast finale will feature special group reunions to reflect on five seasons of making the show. The final episode will pair up Chase Stokes & Jonathan Daviss, as well as Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, & Carlacia Grant.
Just like Netflix’s previous flagship podcasts, fans have options on how to consume it. Full video episodes will be available to stream directly on Netflix, while audio-only versions will drop on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and wherever else you get your podcasts.
The Ultimate Pogue Farewell Month
August is shaping up to be a massive month for the OBX fandom. Alongside the podcast and the season drop on the 20th, don’t forget that Netflix is hosting Pogues For Life: A Fan Farewell Event in Los Angeles on Saturday, August 15th. Featuring the inaugural fan-voted “Pogue Awards,” a live cast Q&A, and an advance screening of the Season 5 premiere, the event will also be livestreamed globally on Tudum.com so nobody misses out.
It’s all leading up to a deeply emotional final season. When we pick back up with John B, Sarah, Kiara, Pope, and Cleo, they are at their absolute breaking point. Stranded far from home following the tragic loss of JJ in Morocco, the crew has lost the Blue Crown and is facing a gauntlet of familiar threats. With Chandler Groff still at large, Dalia and the Corsairs closing in, and the Kooks ensuring they have no home to return to, the Pogues are going to have to rely on their scrappy instincts (and a very uneasy alliance with Rafe) to win the freedom they’ve been chasing since day one.
