Netflix’s recent hot streak of licensing network sitcoms is continuing. What’s on Netflix can confirm that the streaming giant has secured the rights to Season 2 of NBC’s hit mockumentary St. Denis Medical, which is set to drop in full this November.
If you missed the first 18-episode season on NBC, Peacock, or when it arrived on Netflix earlier this year, St. Denis Medical is a workplace comedy set in an underfunded, overworked Oregon hospital. The series follows the doctors and nurses as they navigate the daily chaos of healthcare while trying to maintain their own sanity.
The show comes from Justin Spitzer and Eric Ledgin—the comedic minds behind Superstore, which continues to enjoy long-term success on Netflix internationally, though it hasn’t yet made its way to Netflix US.
The stellar ensemble cast is led by Wendi McLendon-Covey (The Goldbergs) as Joyce, the hospital’s ambitious executive director, and David Alan Grier as Ron, a seasoned but cynical doctor. Allison Tolman, Josh Lawson, Kahyun Kim, Mekki Leeper, and Kaliko Kauahi round out the comedy’s roster.
When is Season 2 of St. Denis Medical coming to Netflix?
We can confirm that Season 2 of St. Denis Medical will arrive on Netflix in full on Sunday, November 3rd, 2026.
Just like the first season which dropped in March 2026, this licensing deal is currently exclusive to Netflix in the United States. For now, international subscribers will have to look to their local VOD or broadcasting providers to catch the comedy.
The timing of this November drop is no coincidence; it perfectly dovetails with the network broadcast of the show. Season 3 of St. Denis Medical is slated to premiere on NBC the very day before, on November 2nd.
This is a textbook example of the symbiotic licensing strategy we’ve seen NBCUniversal (and others like Fox, etc.) employ over the last few years. While NBC titles primarily go to live on Peacock after their initial broadcast, the network frequently uses Netflix as a powerful second window to boost their shows’ profiles. We saw it when Season 1 dropped on April 1st alongside Reba McEntire’s Happy’s Place, and we’re seeing it again now—a well-timed Netflix drop that allows audiences to quickly binge previous seasons right as the newest episodes hit linear television.

How well did St. Denis Medical perform on Netflix?
Added in the United States, the series never entered the daily top 10s in the US despite having spent over 78 days in the Peacock top 10s (and HBO Max in many international regions). The only data we’ve got comes via Netflix’s biannual viewership data dump. In the first half of the year, it picked up 6.8M viewing hours, equating to 1.1M views.
