Thai dramas have only grown in popularity with each passing year, and one we expect to be popular with subscribers is the upcoming crime thriller, Delusion. Starring Taew-Natapohn Phornprapha, the series centers on the family of high school teacher Wan, whose father becomes the prime suspect in a murder case, and who must race against time to uncover the truth. Delusion is set to premiere on Netflix on September 24, 2026.

Delusion is an upcoming Thai Netflix Original crime thriller co-written and directed by Au Chayan Laoyodtrakool. Pete Kasidej Sundararjun and Yui Kanokphan Ornrattanasakul co-wrote the screenplay alongside Chayan Laoyodtrakool. The series is produced by Prakasit Patrathiranond and production studio Base Camp PA.

Au Chayan Laoyodtrakool shared with Netflix their vision of the series:

“The core of this story is family dynamics, heavily layered with mystery, crime and investigation, and family drama, which amplifies the emotional weight of the series far beyond expectations. I believe that by the end, viewers will be left with a deeper understanding of human nature; one that’s closer to them than they might think.”

What is the plot of Delusion?

Netflix has released a synopsis for Delusion:

“This forces his daughter, Wan (Natapohn Phornprapha), a provincial high school teacher, to stand up and fight against the town’s rumor and prove that her father is only a sick man who needs care, not the monster the town has decided he is. But every answer she uncovers only raises more questions, and the closer she gets to the truth, the less she recognizes the people closest to her, the ones she calls family.”

Who are the cast members of Delusion?

Taew-Natapohn Phornprapha plays Wan. The actress previously starred in Netflix’s Thai-comedy film Frozen Hot Boys. She is best known for starring in dramas such as Nobody’s Happy if I’m Not, Game of Outlaws, and Game Sanaeha.

The actress shared her thoughts on the appeal of the series:

“For me, it’s about ‘deception.’ It makes the audience question what kind of series they are actually watching — is it a mystery, an investigative thriller, or a profound family drama? But there’s something hidden within that ultimately makes you realize why the story had to be told this way.”

Jes-Jespipat Tilapornputt plays Pete. This will be the actor’s first role in a Netflix project, and he is best known for starring in lead roles in Thai dramas such as Dear My Secretary, The Lady and Her Lovers, 4Minutes, and Somewhere Our Love Begins.

The actor also shared how much work went into preparing for his role:

“I had to study the script heavily because the plot is highly complex with a lot of details. I attended several workshops and spoke with real police officers, both from crime and investigation units and the general detective unit, in order to fully understand the differences between them. Even though this is not my first time playing a police officer in my acting career, it was the first time that I truly understood the differences between investigative and interrogative police duties.”

August Vachiravit Paisarnkulwong plays Wat. This will also be the actor’s first role in a Netflix project, but he has previously played a lead role in dramas such as Love Destiny, Addicted Heroin, My Love in the Countryside, U-Prince: First Class, and You Are My Universe.

The actor expressed how working alongside his experienced cast members pushed him to work even harder:

“Working alongside so many top-notch, experienced actors meant I had to do more homework than ever before. I had to dig deep into Wat’s background to justify his actions in every single scene. I also went through numerous solo and group workshops to truly understand the character on a deeper level before filming, which really helped me in the most effective ways.”
