Leaving Netflix April 2024

Pictures: Sony Pictures Television, Warner Bros Pictures and others…

It’s time for another look ahead at the movies and series scheduled to be removed from Netflix in the United States, and below, you’ll find an early look ahead at the April 2024 departures.

Among the big departures for next month include most of the DC movie library we saw added to Netflix across multiple waves in December 2023. As we exclusively reported last month, all six seasons of Community are also due to depart from service in the US and all regions ahead of the Peacock revival movie.

As a reminder, we publish actual dates of removals as opposed to other outlets that copy and paste Netflix’s (somewhat incomplete) list of titles that list on the last day to watch. So, for any title listed below, you can watch the movie or series until the removal day. So, if something is being removed on April 1st, your last day to watch is March 31st.

Why does Netflix remove content? It comes down to licensing and windows. For most of the Netflix library (including Originals), the streamer doesn’t own content outright so has to rent the licenses for a fixed period. When that license comes up for renewal, Netflix either removes the title or refreshes the license.
