The royal roster for Netflix’s upcoming animated feature Steps has grown a bit bigger. Just weeks after our mid-July casting reveal that saw Daniel Radcliffe, Peter Dinklage, and Young Mazino join the project, we have another exciting addition to share.

Netflix has officially announced that WWE Superstar Damian Priest is bringing his heavyweight talent to the voice cast of the highly anticipated comedy. Animation Magazine first had the news.

Priest will be lending his voice to a character named Cracktor. Speaking on his transition from the wrestling ring to the recording booth, Priest shared his excitement about bringing the larger-than-life persona to the animated world:

“As WWE Superstars, we use our voices as an extension of our onscreen character. I enjoyed channeling that energy into making Cracktor feel intense and larger than life. I think people are going to be surprised by how much of a show-stealing character he is.”

Priest is the latest addition to what is shaping up to be one of the most star-studded voice casts in Netflix Animation history. He joins a stacked ensemble that we’ve been closely tracking here at What’s on Netflix. The up-to-date voice cast for Steps now includes:

As a quick refresher, here is the official synopsis for the film, which promises to completely flip the classic fairy tale on its head:

“Think you know Cinderella’s “evil” stepsisters? Think again. Sick of living in Cinderella’s shadow, Lilith (Ali Wong) steals the Fairy Godmother (Bette Midler)’s magic wand and hijacks the Royal Ball with her sister Margot (Stephanie Hsu), breaking the Cinderella story as we know it and dooming the kingdom to the tyrannical rule of Priscilla (Nikki Glaser), a villainous schemer who swoops in and snatches the throne. Now, Lilith must team up with Cinderella (Amanda Seyfried) to fight biker trolls, outrun evil henchmen, and escape the Screaming Woods on an epic quest to save the kingdom, but most importantly, their relationship.”

Steps is a landmark title for the streamer, as it marks the very first film to be fully animated and produced in-house within Netflix Animation Studios. The film is directed by Alyce Tzue (Student Academy Awards gold medal winner) and John Ripa (co-director on Raya and the Last Dragon), with Amy Poehler, Jane Hartwell, and Kim Lessing serving as producers (Poehler and Lessing produce for Paper Kite Productions). The screenplay was penned by Ava Tramer, James Madejski, Jen Chuck, Dana Schwartz, and Felicia Ho.

You can read more about the creative journey of the film in our exclusive interview with directors Alyce Tzue and John Ripa. Also, be sure to catch up on everything we learned about the movie at the Annecy Film Festival and take a peek at our first look.

Steps is slated for a global release on Netflix on November 20th, 2026.
