‘Big Brother’ alum Reilly Smedley shares update on Matt Klotz relationship status

Big Brother alum Reilly Smedley has revealed if she’s currently dating or in a relationship with Season 25’s runner-up Matt Klotz.

“Am I dating Matt? We are not dating right now,” Reilly confirmed in a recent TikTok Live video, which has since expired.

Reilly shared in the video, which has been reposted by multiple fans on Twitter, that Matt had told her “he needs time.”

The 24-year-old Nashville bartender continued of Matt, “We talked about it and he needs time. He is doing his thing, and I’m not going to interfere. I’ll always be his friend, but right now, he was pretty honest and he said that it’s not a good time for him.”

Matt allegedly explained to Reilly that he’s been feeling “overwhelmed” lately and “has a lot going on.”

Reilly therefore concluded, “So I’m just going to be there for support when he needs me — and that’s that!”

Matt — who finished as the runner-up of Big Brother’s 25th season — spoke to Entertainment Weekly earlier this month about where he saw his relationship with Reilly going outside of the Big Brother house.

“I knew that one was coming. Yeah, me and Reilly will have a good talk,” Matt said after the finale aired.

“It’s been 84 days since I’ve seen her. She got evicted early, and then I made it all the way through to the end. I think Reilly knows a lot more about me, because she’s been watching the show.”

Matt added, “I don’t know much, but I’m excited to get to know more of the rest of her and spend time with her.”

Reilly went from being the first Head of Household of Big Brother’s 25th season to being voted out at the second live eviction of the season.

Matt, a 27-year-old Deaflympics gold medalist from Cameron Park, CA who currently resides in Baton Rouge, LA, was shown crying over Reilly’s departure.

“I can definitely say that I had some feelings for her,” Matt confirmed, before earlier footage showed the swimmer telling Reilly that he found her “really attractive” and had “a little crush” on her.

“I would’ve liked to have longer in this house [with her] to see where [our relationship] would actually end up.”

Back in late August, Reilly addressed what appeared to be her budding showmance with Matt on Big Brother’s Fall 2023 season.

“I think the world of Matt, he is so wonderful. I went into this not wanting any sort of showmance,” Reilly told Us Weekly following her eviction from the Big Brother house, which aired on August 17.

“I wanted to focus on making it to the end, without any love. But, you know, I didn’t expect to meet someone like Matt, and I think he’s wonderful.”

As for what she thought the future was going to hold for them, Reilly teased, “We’ll have to see when he gets out of the house where that goes. But right now, I can think of him as a really wonderful friend, regardless.”

Reilly was voted out of the house through a unanimous 12-0 vote instead of Cameron Hardin, who eventually won “America’s Favorite Player.”

Even Reilly’s own allies — including her best friend Jag Bains — decided to join the house majority and vote against her to prevent making waves and rubbing Hisam Goueli the wrong way.

Reilly started off the game strong with a solid five-person alliance called “The Handful,” which included Matt, and then the group added three more players to make an eight-person majority alliance.

However, Hisam came into power by winning two Power of Veto competitions as well as a Head of Household competition, and he gunned for Reilly knowing she had been targeting him in the days prior.

In fact, Reilly admitted to Hisam’s face that she wanted to take him out.

“He’s a person who really is trying to play an honest game and be straightforward, so I wanted to return that to him and be honest about where my intentions were,” Reilly explained to Us of her decision to be so candid with Hisam. “I wasn’t shy about that.”

Hisam ultimately campaigned for Reilly’s eviction, and he was successful in taking her out.

Matt, for his part, made it all the way to the Big Brother finale earlier this month.

Big Brother crowned Jag its Season 25 champion over Matt, the runner-up, in a 5-2 jury vote during the live two-hour finale broadcast on CBS.

Jag and Matt became the Big Brother season’s Final 2 houseguests after Jag had defeated Matt in the third part of the season’s three-part final Head of Household competition and then opted to vote Bowie Jane out of the Big Brother house.

Matt won $75,000 as the show’s second-place finisher.
