Joey Graziadei reveals he was doubtful ‘The Bachelor’ would work out for him before hometowns

Reality

The Bachelor star Joey Graziadei has revealed how confident or doubtful he was that The Bachelor process was going to work for him — and end happily — at this stage in the competition.

Joey has four remaining bachelorettes on The Bachelor’s 28th season: Daisy Kent, Kelsey Anderson, Maria Georgas, and Rachel Nance.

When The Bachelor airs its next episode on Monday, February 4 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC, fans are going to watch Joey meet and get to know these women’s families.

Joey has been shown announcing at multiple Rose Ceremonies on The Bachelor that he believed his wife was in the room — and now he’s revealed if he truly meant that.

“As a lead going through this, you can’t be 100 percent [sure] that it’s going to work out,” Bachelor in Paradise alum Joe Amabile told Joey on the February 29 episode of the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast.

“What percentage-wise do you feel like it’s going to work out vs. not work out?”

Joe’s wife and podcast co-host, Serena Pitt, clarified, “Like 70 percent work out, 30 percent not work out.”

Joey replied, “At this stage right now, I think I was more — I think you’re right on the point. I think I was, at this point going into hometowns, I was probably 70/30 [work out vs. not work out] or 80/20.”

“Because I could see the relationships were getting there, but we haven’t gotten to the point of anyone expressing that they’re actually in love with me.”

Joey teased how those revelations aren’t typically made until after hometowns on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette.

“If there are real feelings there and they can see a future, those conversations come later on. And I think during [that time], what you’re feeling is, ‘Is it going to keep progressing?… Is it going to get there?'” Joey explained.

“So there’s always going to be that 20 or 30 percent doubt until you know that someone feels the same way that you might feel.”

Joey also admitted on the podcast that he was “deathly afraid” a hometown date could damage or ruin a strong relationship he had built beforehand. For example, if a family disliked Joey or didn’t see him as a good fit with a bachelorette, it could cause a couple to take steps back.

But Joey recently confirmed that he’s “happy” after filming, and he said on the “Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe” podcast that he has no regrets about any of the decisions he had made.

But Joey has teased the ending of his The Bachelor season as “unprecedented” and a total “shocker.”

Joey told Kaitlyn Bristowe on her podcast earlier this year, “I was emotional! I think the big thing is I have not been a huge, avid watcher of the show. This was all very new to me, but from what I’m told, the ending is something that hasn’t happened before.”

Joey acknowledged, “I know they say that every time, but this is actually, from what I’m told, that is the case.”

Many The Bachelor viewers believe they already know whom Joey picked at the end of his season based on his recent TikTok videos. (Click here to find out the bachelorette in question).

But Joey responded to rumors he accidentally spoiled the outcome of his The Bachelor season during a February 22 interview with Us Weekly.

“Obviously anything that comes out like that, I can’t really speak on it. I know people are really trying to figure out what’s going on,” Joey said.

“Yeah, I can’t speak to anything that’s said because it’s not really something that I’m paying attention to.”

The Bachelor’s 28th season just featured Joey eliminating Jenn Tran and Kelsey Toussant in Jasper, Canada, which determined his Final 4 bachelorettes for hometown dates.
