Krysten, a 32-year-old sales representative, and Mitch, a 41-year-old environmental policy advocate, were matched by Married at First Sight experts Pastor Calvin Roberson and Dr. Pepper Schwartz to wed on the Lifetime reality series’ fifteenth season.

Krysten appeared on the August 24 episode of Married at First Sight: Afterparty and discussed how her marriage was going after moving into a San Diego apartment with Mitch.

“Is he ‘forever-husband material’ right now?” Afterparty host Keshia Knight Pulliam asked Krysten.

“Absolutely,” Krysten replied. “He has so many great qualities and they’re coming slowly but surely. But they are there, a lot of them.”

Krysten elaborated of Mitch, “He is extremely honest, almost too honest — almost to a fault. He is very passionate about his family, his work and he’s very hard working. There’s a ton. It would take me forever to list them all.”

Before meeting Mitch, Krysten had been engaged to another man, but she called off the wedding at the last minute upon finding out her fiance had been cheating on her for months.

When Krysten shared that story with Mitch, he reacted compassionately and empathetically, and Krysten said that conversation “absolutely” changed her perception of her husband, who had been a bit uptight and guarded at the beginning of the process.

“He was finally being emotionally available for me. He wasn’t judging me [and] he was listening to me. Him and I are building a really strong connection, so I felt very safe to tell him and I had exactly the response I was wanting,” Krysten shared.

Mitch had told Krysten it was “kind of weird” her loved ones still attended the destination wedding when there was no groom, but Krysten noted, “Maybe he wasn’t understanding that I had tried to get all my money back and couldn’t get a dime back. So I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.”

But that doesn’t mean Krysten and Mitch’s marriage was perfect a couple of weeks into the experiment.

When they planned a futuristic housewarming party, Mitch took control over the decorations, the costumes and more.

“I thought it was nice he wanted to take charge with something, but this housewarming party is the first time I’m really seeing our differences in compatibility and how hard it was for us to plan this party,” Krysten explained.

Krysten acknowledged how she had “so much fun” with Mitch at the party but her friends noticed Krysten’s personality and vibe was missing from the theme and decor.

Krysten said her friends were a little concerned about that and “they just wanted to see a little ‘Krysten’ here.”

“Their support is really important, but they’re still very optimistic and positive,” Krysten shared.

When Mitch and Krysten tied the knot as strangers, they had a nice wedding and got along well, but Mitch told the cameras that he wasn’t attracted to his bride right off the bat.

At the start of the couple’s honeymoon, Mitch panicked because, although he thought Krysten was an amazing woman, he wasn’t developing an attraction to her, and he was upset because he wasn’t feeling any urge to be physical with her.

However, a night of tequila shots and chocolate-covered strawberries led to the pair kissing in their hotel room that night, with Mitch admitted he got “all fired up.”

Mitch apparently became attracted to Krysten’s confidence and the way she handled herself with grace and poise in the face of rejection.

Mitch admitted he was thankful to have been matched with a wonderful and patient woman, and the pair only got closer once they moved in together. Krysten said she felt “really happy,” adding, “I already know I’m going to fall in love with him.”

The couple had similar values, goals and plans for having children, and they decided to consummate their marriage.

Krysten said Mitch’s extreme views on environmentalism was a lot for her to handle, but she said she found the topic important as well and would be willing to make changes to make Mitch happy. Krysten’s friends just hoped Mitch would adjust and compromise for her as well.

Krysten later told her fellow Married at First Sight brides how her marriage had gone from zero to 100 since the rocky honeymoon.

Krysten went as far as to call it “a 10 out of 10,” and Mitch boasted to the other grooms how Krysten liked his crazy and weird sides, which he really appreciated about her.

“I know we’re going to make it the eight weeks, [and] I think this is a lifetime marriage,” Krysten announced.

Married at First Sight, which currently airs on Wednesday nights at 8PM ET/PT on Lifetime, also stars Stacia and Nate, Lindy and Miguel, Morgan and Binh, and Justin and Alexis.
