‘The Bachelorette’ alum Kaitlyn Bristowe shares birthday post about loss and moving in right direction

Reality

The Bachelorette alum Kaitlyn Bristowe has posted about digging up her “roots” and taking steps forward after loss on her 39th birthday.

Kaitlyn apparently celebrated her 39th birthday on Wednesday, June 19 with friends, including The Bachelor alum Christina Mandrell, according to her Instagram Stories.

Not only did The Bachelorette’s Season 11 star play beer pong and dance the night away, but she enjoyed a lot of laughs and some good drinks.

Kaitlyn also shared a screenshot from the Co-Star astrology app on Tuesday, June 18.

The app told Kaitlyn this is the year “you don’t let the grass grow under your feet.”

The post continued, “This year your task is to discover where you’re meant to be. Rip up the roots. You can build something new with bricks of gold.”

Kaitlyn’s message continued, “You’ve spent years believing you wouldn’t feel at home in yourself. This year that changes. A certain amount of unsteadiness is to be expected. Take what you can carry. Leave the rest.”

The message concluded: “As you begin your next year, remind yourself that everything you lose is a step in the right direction.”

Kaitlyn captioned her post by writing, “Wow,” suggesting that the advice really hit home for her.

Kaitlyn is clearly feeling better and more uplifted about a week after her ex-fiance, Jason Tartick, went Instagram official with his new girlfriend, TikTok star Kat Stickler, on June 12.

“People make me f-cking sick,” Kaitlyn wrote in a since-deleted post on June 13, according to Us Weekly.

The former The Bachelorette star added, “IF YOU ONLY KNEW.”

Kaitlyn later followed that up with a third post via Instagram Stories in which she continued, “What people will do for attention is making me want to exit the Internet forever.”

While it’s unclear whether Kaitlyn was feeling “sick” because of Jason and Kat’s public romance or due to hurtful social-media comments thrown her way, the former Dancing with the Stars winner set her post to “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived,” which appeared to be a jab at Jason.

The song “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” is about a deceitful former partner with a questionable moral code.

Earlier that day, Kaitlyn had posted a photo with her two dogs, Pinot and Ramen, and insisted to her Instagram followers that she was feeling “healthy” and “strong.”

But The Bachelorette alum first commented on Jason and Kat’s Instagram-official announcement by writing on a Facebook group designed to support her “Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe” podcast, Us reported.

One Facebook user wrote, “We need to let go of the narrative that KB is hurt/saddened by Jason’s relationship. She has very clearly moved on. And truthfully, based on some of her cryptic comments, there’s no love lost on her part.”

Kaitlyn replied, “It’s more of some held on anger and resentment that I’m working through!!! Not hurt.”

Kaitlyn thanked those who had written kind words to her, but she also slammed trolls who had suggested Jason’s new romance probably wouldn’t upset her since she appears to be dating The Bachelorette alum Zac Clark, with whom she’s been spotted in public multiple times since their relationship made headlines in January.

“Y’all are making some wild assumptions in here,” Kaitlyn wrote in the thread.

Kaitlyn and Jason had announced their split in August 2023, and then Kaitlyn accused her ex of having a “victim mentality” and searching for sympathy from fans on social media.

Jason publicly commented on Kaitlyn and Zac’s relationship in early January by calling the second day of the month “the first official day of 2024” after photos had surfaced of Kaitlyn’s New Year’s Eve bash.

Kaitlyn admitted on her “Off the Vine” podcast at the time that she was “disappointed” in how Jason was handling their split.

“I don’t want to dismiss that he’s hurting,” Kaitlyn shared. “The word disappointment keeps coming up. I feel so disappointed that someone could use a false narrative, like, a false narrative accusation to garner sympathy for themselves.”

Rumors of Jason and Kat’s relationship first sparked in March when the pair had been spotted out to dinner in Chicago, IL, following the taping of a “Trading Secrets” podcast episode, which has since been released.

Jason acknowledged the online “chit-chat” he was hearing about his love life during a March interview with People.

At the time, Jason said his new book, Talk Money To Me, was his main “focus,” largely in part due to his highly publicized and scrutinized breakup with Kaitlyn, who had co-hosted two seasons of The Bachelorette alongside Zac’s ex-fiancee Tayshia Adams.

“I think due to such a public breakup, even when I think about the idea of talking openly about my dating life, I get like, ‘Oh, That scares me,'” Jason admitted.

“The whole idea of dating is relatively new to me, [because] really, there’s been some gaps of course, 100%. But from 2017, when I started talking to The Bachelor franchise, and in between there, there was a few months, and now I’ve been single for about 9 months… And it’s all still pretty new to me.”

But Jason gushed of Kat at the time, “Kat is an amazing person. She’s lovely and a great mother, and she’s a hilarious content creator. I only have incredible things to say about her.”

The Bachelorette 14 alum and Kat made multiple public appearances together in April and May before confirming their relationship via Instagram on June 12.

And that’s because Jason explained on the “Scrubbing In With Becca Tilley & Tanya Rad” podcast that he wanted to keep things “a little bit more private” this time around.

“[My split from Kaitlyn] was so public, and there’s a lot that comes with that — good and bad,” Jason told Becca Tilley.

“And so, the whole dating aspect, which I’m relatively new to, I’m like, ‘You know what? For right now, today, I’m gonna kind of keep things private,'” he said, “until things become [more serious]. But right now, I’m keeping things a little private. But more to come.”

Jason expressed via Instagram Stories in February that he was feeling “euphoric” and his “biggest takeaway” from his heartbreak was to “keep pointing the thumb at yourself and do everything in your power to hold yourself accountable.”

Jason, a Buffalo native who had competed for Becca Kufrin’s heart on The Bachelorette’s fourteenth season in 2018, asked Kaitlyn out on their first date in January 2019, and their romance moved quickly.

Jason moved from his place in Washington to live with Kaitlyn in Nashville, TN, in June 2019. The couple then adopted their two dogs together and got engaged in May 2021.

Jason ultimately moved himself out of Kaitlyn’s Nashville home into his new place after their breakup last summer. (Kaitlyn also subsequently moved into a new house for a fresh start after her back-to-back broken engagements to The Bachelorette 11 winner Shawn Booth and then Jason).

Once Kaitlyn was photographed with Zac on New Year’s Eve this year, she has received a lot of backlash.

Kaitlyn also denied speculation she had cheated on Jason with Zac when they were still an item.

The Bachelor alum also noted, “But you don’t even know the truth.”

Kaitlyn also appeared to address her relationship with Zac by writing, “I wish I could just share my truth and tell you my side. It’s hard to bite my dang tongue sometimes… But you just go on and continue to have your own little made up story in your head and believe what you want to believe. Social media la la land. Good lawwwddd.”
