I Know What You Did Last Summer Review – If Only Dogs Could Talk (1×07)

Reviews

The bad news is that Riley is definitely dead.

Part of me was still holding out hope that after she dragged herself through half the island, she would find some help and pull through.

Even when I saw Clara dragging her body into the cave, I thought that maybe she’d survive.

Alas, that wasn’t her fate.

But was Clara her killer? It’s hard to tell. Clara definitely had her quirks, but it seems as though I Know What You Did Last Summer Season 1 Episode 7 cleared her as the murderer.

Don’t get me wrong — the public still thinks that Clara is very much responsible, but the audience saw her in a new, creepy light performing rituals on both Lennon and Riley’s bodies to ensure a smooth transition to the afterlife.

Maybe she was just odd?

Lyla was clearly disturbed by what she witnessed, especially when she saw Clara was dead alongside Riley in the cave.

In the final moments, Dylan confessed to her murder right after Lennon slept with him and then confided in him that she was actually Alison.

Big mistake. Dylan did not take it well at all and basically blamed all the bad things he’s done on her secret.

Alison was obviously feeling very vulnerable and thought she could trust Dylan, but honestly, how did she expect this conversation to go?

That’s a huge thing to drop on someone regardless of the amount of trust built up.

Dylan has obviously had a hard time with what they did, particularly because he personally felt guilty about it. Not even about the covering up the murder part, but just about the fact that Alison was walking down that road by herself because he slept with Lennon.

Of course, there’s also the slight fact that Margot might be right about Dylan being the killer. He’s been sketchy at every turn.

We know he’s capable because he killed Carla, he works on a goat farm (the goat head in Lennon’s closet, and it may or may not be a coincidence that Margot was pushed out of her house shortly after he learned about Alison’s secret.

All signs point to Dylan, though, which is probably why he isn’t the killer.

In slasher’s, it’s never the person you expect.

Who pushed Margot? Could it have been Kyle? Lennon had so many secrets maybe they were somehow involved!

I’m actually surprised Dylan was shocked to learn that Lennon is actually Alison. Since the first few episodes, I thought that he always knew the truth and was simply playing along.

I have this other theory that Dylan is Lennon and Alison’s sibling, which makes their whole romantic relationship really disturbing.

Think about it — Dylan’s moms are free-spirited so they could easily belong to a cult.

Lennon and Stella’s father was in a cult, and he was married to Carla at some point.

There’s just a lot of cult-action at play that I could see it being a thing.

Maybe that’s why when Lennon called her dad, he told her to leave the “Dylan thing” up to him. Maybe he can get through to Dylan because that’s his son?

Margot miraculously survived her fall, but it’s unclear who pushed her. The list of suspects is dwindling and is really down to Dylan and Bruce.

Bruce was at the top of my suspect’s list since he gave Johnny a strange look while he was talking to Lennon and ended up dead shortly after. Plus, he obviously knows what they did last summer and knew where Clara would be hiding out. He also didn’t seem all that shocked when Lennon told him everything that’s been happening.

Bruce has a lot of secrets. Also, did anyone catch his accent in one of the scenes? Why was it there? Is he a twin too? Are we not seeing the same Bruce?

Okay, that’s a stretch, but the accent really did throw me off, so I had to point it out.

Anyway, Bruce met up with Lennon and Alison’s mother, who looks nothing like I imagined.

She’s back in town after Lennon reached out and sent her Alison’s obit, but what does she really want?

The whole town thinks she committed suicide, so that’s going to be a rude wake-up call.

The episode ended with Margot and Lennon spending the night together. As she dozed off, she ran her fingers across Lennon’s thig scars and muttered “you have them too.” Does she know that Lennon is actually Alison? Or was she referring to her own scars?

And finally, is Dylan going to the police to tell them the truth about Lennon? Or is he going to turn himself in?

What did you think of the episode?
