On Tuesday, April 7, streaming giant Netflix announced that it is expanding the One Piece universe in a first-ever move.
Coming this year is the All New LEGO® ONE PIECE Animated Special.
The news comes “on the heels of Season 2’s massive success,” as the Japanese manga series debuted at No. 1 on the Netflix Global Top 10, where it currently remains, along with securing a 100% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Giving into fan demand—and giving people what they want, “Netflix is officially opening the hatches, drawing from the original source material for fans to experience this beloved world and its iconic characters in new ways.”

Fans can prepare for an all-new adventure and voyage into the LEGO® ONE PIECE animated special, described as “a two-part visual spectacle premiering on September 29, 2026.
First Look at Netflix’s LEGO ONE PIECE
The teaser that dropped alongside the announcement gives fans a look at the all new special, which teases, “Our story about the Straw Hat Pirates begins,” before telling audiences to “get ready for the LEGO event.”
What Can Fans Expect from Netflix’s LEGO ONE PIECE?
The animated special is produced with the LEGO Group, Shueisha and Atomic and will retell the “epic events of the first two seasons of the lve action ONE PIECE, in a way only the LEGO Group can.”
Naturally, this means it will be jam-packed with laughs, thrills, and brick-built action.
Are the LEGO ONE PIECE Sets?
While no products were officially announced, it’s highly probable, as Lee teased, “From the epic high stakes of ONE PIECE: The Battle of Alabasta in 2027 to our first-ever LEGO animated special this September, a stunning anime reimagining with THE ONE PIECE, and an expanded line of products so fans can bring the adventure home, we are building a universe where every fan—whether lifelong or brand new—can find their place in the Straw Hat crew.”

When Will ONE PIECE SEASON 3 Premiere on Netflix?
In addition to the LEGO ONE PIECE, Netflix officially confirmed the third season of the live-action series.
Titled ONE PIECE: THE BATTLE OF ALABASTA, it will debut sometime in 2027, though an official date hasn’t been announced just yet.

Netflix revealed a sneak peek of the upcoming season’s journey, which teases that “war is coming for Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat crew in the desert kingdom of Alabasta, Princess Vivi’s homeland. A rebellion threatens to tear the nation apart, fueled in secret by one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, the ruthless Sir Crocodile, and his underground syndicate Baroque Works, who seek to conquer Alabasta for themselves.”
“In a season defined by unbreakable bonds and impossible choices, the Straw Hats must face a brewing civil war and a powerful warlord to save Vivi’s kingdom before it crumbles into the sand.
