‘The Way Home’ Season 4 Premiere Draws Kat and Alice Back to the Pond to Explore New Family Mysteries

- Advertisment -

The Way Home fans are patiently waiting for the fourth season of the hit Hallmark series, and sadly, the final one.

The upcoming season will reunite audiences with leading ladies Chyler Leigh, Sadie Laflamme-Snow and Andie MacDowell, who star as the women of the Landry family, Kat, Alice, and Del, respectively.

And it will be the last time, as Hallmark Channel has officially canceled the series—with much uproar from the dedicated fandom, including many who fell in love with the show when it began streaming on Netflix.

Here’s everything we know about the final season—including when it premieres—and the unexpected (and frankly, unhinged) cancellation!

The Way Home Fourth Final Season Premiere Date

The hit Hallmark Channel drama The Way Home is returning for its fourth season, and fans won’t have to wait much longer. Hallmark has set the Season 4 premiere for Sunday, April 19, 2026 at 9/8c, with episodes available to stream the following day on Hallmark+.

This season brings back the beloved Landry family — including Del, Kat, Alice and Elliot — as they continue to untangle the emotional mysteries, relationships and time‑bending twists that have defined the show.

How Will The Way Home Season 4 Episodes Be Released?

The Way Home Season 4 is expected to air its episodes weekly on the Hallmark Channel, similar to how past seasons were released, with one episode per week on Sundays.

When Will The Way Home Season 4 Premiere on Netflix?

Currently, The Way Home seasons 1 through 3 are streaming on Netflix, though there’s no official timing for when the fourth and final season will be available on the streamer. It won’t be available on Netflix until it airs on Hallmark, that’s for sure, so it’s likely going to be on Netflix several months after it wraps up on Hallmark!

Brief Refresher: What The Way Home Is About

The Way Home blends family drama with fantasy and time travel, following three generations of Landry women who are navigating heartbreak, estrangement and unexpected journeys through time.

Since its debut in January 2023, the series has charmed fans with its mix of emotion, mystery and heartfelt storytelling across its first three seasons.

The Way Home Season 4 Plot

While much of season 4 is being held tightly under wraps, here’s the description of the new season.

“New journeys and revelations await the Landry family across generations. At the beginning of Season 4, Alice (Laflamme-Snow) is about to graduate high school, Kat (Leigh) and Elliot (Williams) dream of the next steps for their relationship while Del (MacDowell) realizes she will soon be an empty-nester again. But Del, Kat, Alice and Elliot should know by now that no matter how hard they try to focus on the future, the past is never gone. As more mysteries are unearthed, the Port Haven of the past and the Landry family of generations before might just contain the answers they seek.”

The Way Home Season 4 Cast

MacDowell, Leigh, and Laflamme-Snow will be back for the fourth season.

Spencer MacPherson, Evan Williams, Julia Tomasone, Jordan Doww, and Devin Cecchetto will also return.

How Did The Way Home Season 3 End?

Spoilers ahead.

The finale of The Way Home Season 3 wrapped up with several major time-traveling revelations and emotional moments. It was confirmed that Elliot—the baby left on Del and Colton’s doorstep earlier in the season—was indeed that child in the basket, and his mother had jumped into the magical pond with a Landry at some point, leaving him behind, though it’s unclear who she jumped with, though there’s theories that it was Colton’s brother, since the pond (currently) only allows Landry’s to travel.

Alice discovered more about her time‑traveling experiences and realized she had met Elliot’s mom in the 1970s, tying together past trips through time with present consequences. She also had an extremely emotional moment with her grandfather, Colton, in 1999, where he revealed he knew she was his granddaughter, allowing them to break through that barrier. They exchanged “I love you’s” before he died, with Alice seemingly hinting to him about his demise without revealing when, where, or how.

Del also time‑traveled in the finale, returning to be a bystander at her own wedding, helping her come to terms with the fact that Colton kept this big secret from her and reaffirming his love for her.

The finale left plenty of questions unanswered, getting fans excited for what’s to come, including who wrote the mystery letters to Del about Jacob, Jacob’s future uncertain after his disappearance once again, and Casey’s identity, as they confirmed they are not Alice’s child from the future but still connected to the time-travel plot in some way. There’s also the mysterious letter from Elliot’s mother that will be explored further in season 4.

Why This Season Is Also the Final One

In a twist that took many fans by surprise, Hallmark confirmed that Season 4 will be the last for The Way Home — meaning there will be no Season 5.

The announcement came after the show had already been renewed earlier in 2025, and production had already been underway, leading to mixed reactions in the fandom. Some viewers were excited for closure, while others felt the decision came too quickly and late in the process, especially with how many devoted fans the show has.

It’s also a strange decision considering that Netflix amplified the show’s success, with many fans hoping that maybe there’s potential for Netflix to swoop in to the rescue and be the hero, though that possibility remains uncertain (as there’s a lot that goes into ownership and rights to the show!).

Hallmark executives have emphasized that the final season will provide a “satisfying close” to the drama, promising emotional payoffs and revelations for long‑running plotlines.

How to Watch The Way Home—Including Season 4

You can watch The Way Home Season 4 live on the Hallmark Channel when it premieres on April 19, 2026, and stream it on Hallmark+ the next day.

Previous seasons are currently available to catch up on Hallmark+ if you missed them, along with Netflix, which has seasons one through three.
