WATCH: ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ Remake Trailer Aims to Attract Slasher Fans

Reviews

Amazon Prime is resurrecting ’90s franchise I Know What You Did Last Summer as a YA drama.

The premise is simple: a group of teens accidentally kill someone and think they’ve covered it up until the blackmailing begins.

Of course, these days, what should be a straightforward slasher flick reads more like Euphoria in hopes of attracting a younger fanbase.

“One year after the fatal car accident that haunted their graduation night, a group of teenagers find themselves bound together by a dark secret and stalked by a brutal killer. As they try to piece together who’s after them, they reveal the dark side of their seemingly perfect town — and themselves. Everyone is hiding something, and uncovering the wrong secret could be deadly,” the logline reads.

Will horror fans sink their teeth into it?

While I’m not overly hooked by the trailer, I don’t judge a book by its cover, so I’ll definitely be adding this to my binge list, especially since it premieres on October 15, just in time for spooky season.
