The location of White Lotus Season 3 has officially been revealed.
Pack your bags and buckle your seatbelts because the star-studded anthology series is taking fans to Thailand.
Variety has the location confirmation on good authority from several sources. The outlet noted that it was previously hinted that the third season might take place in Asia and focus on the theme of “death and Eastern religion and spirituality.”
“The first season kind of highlighted money, and then the second season is sex. I think the third season would be maybe a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality. It feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus,” creator Mike White previously said.
Furthermore, it’s possible that the Four Seasons resort will once again host an array of privileged characters as it did in seasons 1 and 2, which were set in Hawaii and Italy, respectively. There are reportedly 4 Four Season properties in Thailand, so it’s possible that the series will be filmed in either Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui, or the Golden Triangle.
HBO has not commented.
We’re still early in the game as production has not begun and White is said to be scouting locations in Thailand at the moment.
When Will White Lotus Season 3 Premiere?
There is also no premiere date set, but based on previous season premieres—summer 2021 and fall 2022—the third season is expected to arrive sometime in late 2023 or early 2024.
Has the Cast for White Lotus Season 3 Been Announced?
No cast has been announced just yet, though it’s expected to be a completely new ensemble of lush travelers ready to explore an exotic yet deeply complex locale where their worst insecurities and qualities bubble up to the surface.
That being said, there’s no shortage of A-listers interested with Jennifer Aniston throwing her hat in the ring, along with Abbott Elementary’s Sheryl Lee Ralph, Hayden Panettiere, and even Bette Middler, per Yahoo. Some people even think Danny Devito might be involved after he was spotted having dinner with White.
The first two seasons saw the likes of Jennifer Coolidge, Aubrey Plaza, Sydney Sweeney, Haley Lu Richardson, Steve Zahn, Connie Britton, and Michael Imperioli.
So while the verdict is still out on the cast, based on all the interest and previous casting, we’re sure it won’t disappoint.
